Onion Creek. Nice scenic drive.

The YouTube needs to process the video so give it a min. It's only showing low resolution.

I'm uploading more more video that's pretty awesome footage, looks like a Toyota commercial. but I need to go meet the guys and gals for Fins n Things.
It'll be uploaded tonight.

@TonyP that is some very impressive drone footage, nice job. Moab is a perfect area for drone shots.

Thank you sir. Not sure what the occasional distortion is in the video. I'll have to do some research on that.

Here's a few action shots of @Atwalz @indycole @Markuson and myself on Fins n Things. Really fun trail. Lots of bumper scrape-age. My front took a really solid hit attempting a decline. I'm talking, I'm surprised my airbag didn't deploy it was hard. Zero bumper damage, the thing is solid. I think Mark has a video of it.

Other than that, really good times with some good folks! I really want a '16+ now. Driving behind Cole got me jealous. I dig that thing.

Tony, for a self-declared drone noobie?
-You were KILLIN IT as drone pilot and camera operator today!! Nice work!

I...want...one...!

@TonyP drone shots are awesome.

Wow! So glad you all got to do Onion Creek. Beautiful drive. Brought back plenty of memories - and some regret that I couldn't be there with you. Love that drive. Nice switch from the mostly slickrock trails. Great video, @TonyP! Thanks for sharing.

Onion Creek Trail... Gorgeous day!

I'm glad to see there is no lack of recording devices to capture these adventures for posterity! Also glad to see you got some underbody rinsing action on Onion Creek! (The last time we drove that trail it was in part because I had attempted a section of wet clay mud trail north of I70 earlier in the day and had some nasty, concrete-like mud underneath. Splashing through Onion Creek did the trick and was much more enjoyable than a car wash.)

Awesome shots guys. I've never done Onion Creek but now I definitely want to. I am planning on sending this link out to everyone attending LCDC so we can share pics and video.

Shared Google Drive Folder: 2017 200LCDC - Google Drive

- Upload pictures of other people's trucks to their folder - we all tend to have great shots of other people's rigs
- Upload group pictures to the group folder
- Upload your pictures to your own folder
- Upload raw drone footage for other people to use, edit and make their own movies

@indycole / formatting guru/tech wiz - let me know if you have an idea for improving this method of photo/video sharing!

Good idea. What's the storage capacity of the folder? A raw 4k, 5 minute, drone video can be a few gigs.

Also, looks like I can't upload to the folder.

My fault - I sent a view only link.

Storage is a good question. I was looking at using my company Drive account with unlimited storage but it appears that won't work; I'd have to add each person as a "user" to that account and I of course can't do that.

With the shareable link it appears to default to 100GB. I'm not sure if that's combined or per user though - maybe someone with more Google Drive knowledge can chime in on this.

Seems like a good way to share all our media across one platform, but ideally it won't cost much either.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

I would suggest adding a Google Shared Album to the mix, invite everyone. That way all can easily upload pics (and vids) - google does a nice job filing the photos based on time stamp so they're always in order no matter who posts. You can post unlimited photos as long as you're not trying to save RAW format. Edit: and if you do this, post the link up (we'll be read only) so we can follow along!

Then just use the google drive as the repository for large files. "Raw" footage. Reality is by the end of these trips, and thousands of photos and vids, no on wants to pile through them all. Best case is someone would pull best of off of Drive and post to the shared photos album.

I like that idea too, the only issue I have is the inherent disorganization of those pictures with only a time-stamp level of organization. You're right that there will be thousands of files. I'm hoping that if users can upload their files to an organized spot to begin with, other users can download them from Drive - they will be zipped folders that users can download to wherever they would ultimately like the files to be.

I'm hoping that everyone can upload pics to where they go - their own folder or that of another attendee. I was thinking maybe we would give a deadline for everyone to pull the pics they want to their local computer or their preferred cloud storage medium - something like 2 months after LCDC and then I could shut down the folder (with the assumption I will need to pay for storage for those two months as it will certainly exceed the 100 GB given with Drive.)

Does that make sense? I'm just guessing (hoping) that we would not exceed 2TB of data from these files, but that might be wishful thinking. I don't mind floating $20/month for 2 months, but the next tier within drive is 10TB and that's $100/month - so we might need a way for users to pitch in if we are at that storage level. A couple bucks per person would probably be worth it to have those files up for a couple months so they can pull the ones they want.

Yeah I think if the intent is to save these photos/vids in folders, to be stored to end of time having and giving others access, having everyone put into their own folders makes sense. As someone who's only interested in seeing what you guys do (through photos and vids) I personally wouldn't go as far as opening different folders and looking at different users' stuff, etc... I know this is NOT about me, but this might be a bit about sharing photos with others in a logical way?

For example... here's our trip to Moab this past May, 5 individuals uploading all files on the go, a "live" look at our trip for anyone who had the link. Most, if not all modern cameras will include a digital time-stamp, that way photos can automatically be categorized chronologically. So you can see all photos of a certain subject no matter who took them, all in one spot: https://goo.gl/photos/mazcXXdXhdHhr8ty9 Edit: all we did was upload, what you see at the link was the auto-output.

You do have the option to sort by User upload, or by most recent which can be helpful. And lastly, users can easily download/add a photo to their Library if it's not theirs. The "add a photo to Library" is the best feature IMO because it's saved to your Google Photos and you don't have to download only to upload/save it somewhere else.

I like that too, but I feel that might be more beneficial with a smaller group. In the LCDC folder I created a couple sub-folders for "group pictures" and "drone footage" that I'm guessing everyone would want access to.

I know that with this format, everyone will be hoping photo Santa (@kreiten ) will put "presents" in their folders, haha.
