I bet its a old South Central Bell (ATT) building.
??? I don’t have a clue. It’s definitely creepy looking being solid concrete and no windows. I didn’t venture close enough to see if there was anything to identify it but from the road there’s no signs.

Will is home and summer job does not start for a couple weeks so we went to Berry’s in Benton for a burger.

After that we bounced over to Yazoo City and checked out the Witch Grave

He was not ready to give in so we decided to head to Satartia and check the haunted bridge. The old “honor system” store is void of food and drink sadly but well stocked with paperbacks

From there we cut through Delta National and checked out Rolling Fork. Unreal.

We jogged down 61 to Vicksburg and hit the Coke museum for ice cream then across 22 to Flora for a sack full of Wagyu Strips at the Flora Butcher

We checked out Margaret’s Grocery along the way. Solid road trip. Needed it.

As luck would have to, Welton’s 62 would not crank after we toured the place.

Laird suggested we go to the Lorman store for lunch and deal with it on full stomachs after

We got back and it fired right up. He and Jerry peeled off back to Bolton and Laird and I went to Windsor Ruins and then Shaffer House

Y’all were out in my neck of the woods. What ended up being wrong with Welton’s 62? Dirty ego relay contacts? Haven’t been to Windsor in a few years. I love getting lost out that way and exploring.

Way back when Andy was cool and explored he took the road past Shaffer house down to a cool closed bridge and back. I went once with my 100 and wanted to show Laird.

There was a monster cedar tree across the road and I added the snatch strap to it and made quick work of it

We got to the bridge and lo and behold it was “open” with plwood lol

We crawled under it and it looked good so we. Crossed.

Then, well, the road went to s***. I hate turning around so I tried it.

Mistake.

The whole road caved in and I fell in

Don’t know. It’s happened before. Let it sit and it cranks. Gotta be a relay

We decided it was best for LarryB to head back and I would go forward and get as far as I could and he would work his way back to me from the top.

All was well until this. No saw.

Fuuuuu

So.

I pulled out the snatch strap again and back up to it and floored it.

Moved it. Not much.

Again.

More.

Rechoaked the strap toward the top and snapped it in 1/2

Tractor pull s***. Wish I
Had a cameraman.

This I dragged away and bounced over the log

Laird pulled up as I was on blacktop and he took the lead back through Port Gibson to Grand Gulf and up to the Natchez Trace.

Here is my track. All is good but backtrack at the bridge past Shaffer House

Did a nice 200 mile off road loop today through mostly Holmes and Carrol Counties.

Just nothing out there but Kudzu and dust
