Great pics.

Was a great day. Thx for coming over guys. I love the drive in there. Some really old untouched timber. And that was the first time i had set foot on the bridge since high school, when it was open. Used to drive across it daily, and even then it was in really bad shape.

PS that skottle meal was fan f’n tastic.

Came across this forum looking for some back roads and forest roads to travel over the weekend so I am asking for recommendations. The wife and I will be leaving Baton Rouge on Saturday morning and spend most of the day riding. What are some your must sees for a quick day trip and places to stay the night? Will be alone so we dont want anything that is to much and take the chance of getting stuck for hours. We have a JKU and limited experience off roading. we have GAIA GPS so we can download the routes. Thanks in advance

It’s opening weekend of deer season so the national forests will be crowded.

You can spend a whole weekend driving around Homochitto National Forest

My buddy Scott Boyd redid my grandfathers axe for me. He also has a cool place outside Macon that I’ve been wanting to visit so I planned a backroad outing today in the Goat

After a big pile of chicken in Carthage I jumped off gravel and wound through some small 2 lanes to Macon

Great little town. I’ve always bypassed the old downtown

Scott is the editor and owner of the Macon newspaper and has property about 15 Miles out of town. Check this cool place out

We swung back to Macon and I grabbed the axe and just stuck to main roads and made it back at dark. Almost 400 Miles and a couple tanks of gas in a 45 is about all I want in one day

Does he make custom handles?

Took a little Delta loop this am. We started it off at Berry’s in Benton MS for a 9 am burger (and meat pie if you are a Delta rat)

From there we picked up one of my favorite roads through Oil City to Satartia

We hit the levee at Panther Swamp and made the long ride up to just south of Belzoni

The wooden trestle at Oil City is now concrete.

The levee was not terribly muddy but the section north of Hwy 14 could get nasty quick

We stopped off at what used to be The Varsity in Belzoni and grabbed some food then headed East to Hillside. This beauty welcomed us.
