Mike, I used a 30 amp relay. I am currently only powering two gauges and a powered usb port. In my situation, that should be plenty of power.

Thanks Kris! I Agree, a 30-amp relay packs a lot of potential switching power, and a 50% diversity ought to be applied since the console accessories will not operate simultaneously. I read your '87 turbo 4-runner thread, nice work on the turbo install! Love your farm purchase too!

I have all the wood and parts to put mine together, just gota find the time and get it done. I will have a 4 gang switch panel, two LED lights under bottom, Volt meter, Blue Sea switch for the dual batteries and Ham radio.

I had imagined there might be a market on MUD for a blanked out unit that a customer could cut holes in to suit their needs. This thickness of aluminum cuts easy with a hacksaw/drill/coping saw. It could be spray painted any color or covered with a desired material.

FYI... you imagined correctly. Blanked out would be cool... or even a few holes cut with uncut faceplates for doing switch panels. Either way, there's a market I'm sure.

Currently testing and finalizing installation of the new sub fuse box, and also a pic of the topside of the console thru windshield

As soon as the electrical connections check OK the console will be installed

I do have some ideas brewing... but it'll likely be integral with a custom roll cage. And I need to get that idea off the ground. =) I expect a lot of work this summer when the temps are too high to drive it. For now I'm just driving it every day.

Yeah I like it too, but now I use a pillow to boost me up high enough to see over the console, but it works for me.

Oops...forgot, I also had to use wooden blocks to extend the pedals too.

I get most of my switch stuff from http://www.otrattw.net/. The "Wench Power" switch was my solution to underhood lighting. They did not have anything specific so I just picked something frivolous.

Now that is cool! What's the console housing made of? Aluminum, steel, wood?

I used 14 gauge steel on both top and bottom. I added a 3/4" spacer on to the top to make enough clearance for the switches and electrical.
