Has anyone one done an H55 trans and t-case in a 69? I am also going to ask on facebook
Surely someone has. However, an H42 and 3.70 is pretty perfect running 33” tires.

I’m glad I have the H55 in the 62 but I’d almost swap the 4.11’s for the 3.70’s and a four speed.

Are you going to swap trannies before SAS?

What’s up with your rig now?

It is going to Higgy's Off road on Friday and we are going to see what the options are going to be, rebuild, swap, replace etc. there is a guy selling the 2F and H55 out of his 60 but there seems like it would be a lot to tackle to get ready for SAS to basically do a transmission swap. right now I am trying to get it so that she isn't my daily driver and if I have to have a truck to tow it up to Colorado I might as well get the towing vehicle now. Nolan said the same thing to go with an H42 and 3.70 gears

is that the H42?

Dan: stop asking forum clowns and start discussing what you can actually afford to do.

If you are farming this out to a shop, it’s going to be multiple thousands of dollars. You asked me if I could fit you in; I couldn’t. I recommended Higgys.

If you are going to do this, get off of forums/get off of fũcking Facebook; and and just do the thing.

Stop broadcasting your experience and just do the thing. None of these people are paying your nut; nor are they in your shoes. Stop relying on people you don’t know.
Well put

Dan, @Living in the Past is correct, that part number is for the H55f. I was just clowning around, as it were.
But also, just helping you with some information that is out there you may have missed.
Since we know each other, my advice is find someone’s take outs from a swap, there seems to be a lot of options. My statement about the gearing ratios and 4 vs 5 speed trannys is just my experience and opinion.

Best of luck whatever path you choose and we’re here for support if you need or want.

Is the trans bad? If not I'd just look for another 2F and swap it in. No need to spend extra money fixing something that isn't broken.

If you have to buy the H55F & 2F combo just sell the H55f to offset some of the cost.

For the cost of retubing a couple of driveshafts, I'd run the whole works out of the 60 series.

It's easier on a 40 to just pull the whole works than it is to just pull the engine in my opinion. Might as well shove them back in after putting a new clutch in.

If Dan were closer to me, I've got front and rear driveshafts off of mine he could have

Is the driveline still in the 60? If it is, drive it and see if you like it.

Just keep in mind the 60 is a little heavier and the tire sizes maybe different. Tire size effects rpm. If you drive the 60 physically measure its tires. Note the rpms at highway and other speeds, so you can compare with your vehicle and tire sizes. Tire manufacturers advertised size isnt correct. Checkout an rpm calculator to see your current setup and compare to what you're considering. I usually make a gear ratio chart. Reference each gear ratio 1st thru 4th or 5th. Include low range in the various gears too. Especially if you wheel. Do your trans and tcase because you know what you like and what it's lacking, and then do the same for the other trans and tcase. Look at the ratios and compare. When you change diff gearing it's going to effect low range, along with highway characteristics. The split case is interesting because there are gearing options available for a price.

After talking to @OGBeno @wngrog and @orangefj45 I have realized that the H55 at this time is not going to be realistic. with the amount of work, labor, fabricating, money and everything else to do it right it is not going to happen. But thank you all for the opinions and suggestions, Even @Living in the Past helped convince me that wouldn't be the best way to go.

Looks like my lady is in the OR i.e. @Cruiserhiggs shop getting yet another heart transplant.
