@lazylfarm I drove the car this motor came out of for 4 years. I had a mild tune in it then. It was fun to drive as well. With the upgrades now, I think it should move right along.

Are you planning to use the 60 tilt column in the cab as well? I used it in mine and its nice to be able to move the wheel up and down a bit. A 40 steering wheel pops right on as well btw.
As far as the rear axle/brakes go I threw in an 80 series ff rear. You get the disk brakes, e brake (i still use the t case drum brake on my orion) and the full floater as a package deal. If you're lucky you can score an elocked unit.

Yup, i started with f/r 60 axles as well. I still run the front 60 but with ifs mini truck hubs to make it wider so it matches the 80 rear a bit better.
For the cloumn i made the original 60 4 bolt firewall mount work by spacing it out a few inches from the 40 firewall with a bracket. This worked out good since it limited interference with the 40 firewall rib. I was able to use the original firewall column hole as well although i had to enlarge it slightly due to the larger diameter of the 60 column. I used parts of the original 40 dash mounts welded to the 60 column and bolted everything in the original location under the dash. Otherwise parts of the 60 tilt mech and plastic housing had to be trimmed to clear the dash/cluster but they were minimal.

Ha, just cut that spot out on mine! They have even more in common!I had one new Toyota fender, but the other one needed some work. Got the front clip into primer.

Made my own shroud so I could use the VW fans with the VW control module. It seems like it should work just fine. And I like that I can go to a junk yard or parts store and get a factory part. VW Jettas are all over if I need a part.

My daughters helped me set the tub on for a test fit. And one couldn't resist the photo opportunity.. Sure feels good to see it looking like a vehicle again. As you can see, I still have a little wiring to do....
Its a fair amount of work getting those lined up, but a lot easier than repairing a rusted steel tub. Is that a stretched tub or stock length?My daughters helped me set the tub on for a test fit. A word of caution- I put mine on and was so excited about having it driveable: it’s still in this basic condition 9 months later. I can’t help myself, it’s so much fun to drive I don’t want to tear it back down. It’s good problem to have.My daughters helped me set the tub on for a test fit.
