JP is headed to Clemson tonight for summer school.

You figure out your schedule / whether you can make it?

Hey Marshall...you talkin about the hub socket and the snap ring pliers? Do I have anything else?

I might be able to make it. I have a 54 mm hub socket and some snap ring pliers from when I did this in February. I am sure some of the process carried over from the 40 to the 80. If anything, i know how to clean out that old, muddy grease really well!

I will have to double check work schedule, but if there is another seat in the shaggin' wagon, I should be able to come.

just pm me if you want a ride travis, I still have atleast one seat open.............. we will be quite the site, 4 guys stuffed into the lil wagon, the ladies won't know what hit them

If they start tailgating you, simply bring them to the casa with you. There will be plenty of food and libations for all parties involved... :D

I'll be driving also.

That's good since you're the club's resident axle specialist. And more importantly, JP's Corolla wagon thanks you. ;)

I'll try to get the rest of the "to-do" items posted today. Me thinks threre's an adjusting the point gaps task to be done like you did Marshall. Maybe not but it seemed to cure some problems for you that are similar to ones I am having.

I'll be there and bring as many tools as I can load the Jeep or cruiser down with. Depends on the weather. I'm not passing up a nice day of weather to not drive the cruiser while it's still together.

What time?

Cool. Time doesn't matter much to me. As early as you want is fine. Maybe see what JP / Alex are thinking. I'll probably run around here on Sat morning and finish getting food and drink. Any special requests, let me know.

I told JP, from the 385 exit to downtown Greenville to my driveway is right around 1 hour, 30 minutes. That's traveling about 75 the whole way. In the 40 it will be a little longer.

chores

I'll be thinking of you guys while I'm spray painting
the house. New adventure for us. Getting too old
to brush and roll.
I have a good many tools and you know I left my "club"
air tools and kit at Alan's place. Ya'll are welcome to stop
by on the way for any tools.
Good luck. I may be bambo speckled when I see ya'll
again. Prez...fire one up for me. :smokin:

Good luck painting, David. I'll save a stogie or 3 to give you when I see you again - hopefully Tellico if not before.

Thanks for the tool use offer as well!!

Marshall - Was too dark when I got home to take and post shock pics. I'll put them here in the morning.

Man, I've been buried this week. Just not enough time in the day. I still haven't taken pics of the shocks. That item may go to the back burner.

Saturday looks to be a good day. Just need to clone myself 2 or 3 times to get everything done by then. Weather should be nice and hot. Calling for a high of 91 which means afternoon T-storms. I have a large covered area to work in if it starts to rain.

I guess you never really know, but if everyone who has expressed interest shows up, it should be a decent turn out for the late notice. Max would be about 10-12, I am guessing half of that is realistic. As usual, I'll have enough food and beer for 20 or more so no worries there...

I'll try to pick the e-mail addresses for those who have expressed interest from the club e-mail and send my address and directions. If you are coming / want to come and don't get an e-mail from me tonight, PM me or let me know here.

Action item list for Saturday to follow...

Things to do on the 40 during HAMOM:

- Front axle service

- Electrical issues - fuse that runs dash lights, tail lights, license plate lights keeps blowing. Short someplace... Also, power to stereo went away suddenly. Not related.

- Parking break doesn't hold. I know David did this to Gundy during his HAMOM. Getting late to order stuff. What do I need?

- No heat in front or rear. Blows air but it's not hot.

- Tough to start and stalls on extreme inclines. Carb probably needs some work. Will look at fuel injecting someday but would like to tweak now. Maybe adjusting the point gaps would help like Marshall did.
