So who’s interested in a night run in the Mountains?

Possibilities: Big Bear: Gold Mountain, Jacob Cyn, John Bull, etc or

Arrowhead: Pilot run, Willow Creek, Dishpan Springs, etc

We could setup camp at one end, have a BBQ feast and then run with the wolfs

Come awn now, chance to use those light. No excuses that you have to work, have kids stuff, etc :D

Post up if you have suggestions, other areas in mind, etc.

Brian

May 17th I will be rafting the Kern river with the scouts.

I may be interested depending on the whether or not the run is an overnighter or not.

Gotta work that night, move it a week either way and I could do it..

Just an FYI- there is also Just Runs trip scheduled for the full moon that Saturday night to Baileys cabin (located in upper coyote canyon) Yahoo! Groups

A few of us from the Temecula/Fallbrook/ Murrieta area may be doing this instead of Big Bear. The road in is a bladed fire road with minimal obstructions- I would say that a stockj landcruisere in any form would not have any issues unless thay are driver related;p

One sure thing- I will be bringing the Temequila where ever I go.
This also may be the last time to go to AB before it heats up.

If you drink enough of the Temequila:cheers:, you could have a driver related issue:doh:

When the temequila comes out, the folding chair is the only thing I wheel , and I wheeled one hard at Calico.

We'd love to go, but we have a trip planned for May and with gas prices we can't afford 2 trips a month no matter how close it may be. Thats even with free gas.

I hear you on the gas prices, that is why we are thinking locally instead of BB. I will be doing the Early bronco Big bear bash in june and that will require gas for an entire weekend.

Sure sucks that we have to limit our activities around the price of gas.

PM sent- you would like this run.

Also there is a side canyon called Horse Canyon where those who need their rock fixes can play. Alder Canyon is another neat side trip that is stock rig capable.

Hope to see a bunch of you guys- show up- we should have a nice gathering.

Hey Tim, if you plan on doing the easy/stock run, I'll be there.

Dont have any bumpers or such yet, so need to play it safe for a bit

If this is the destination you have decided on, I may be able to make it as well. I will have turned another year older the weekend prior:).

I assume the Just Runs guys won't be spending the night? Horse Canyon is a really good side trip while you're there and the challenge level seems to increase as you travel into it.

Hey Tim/Kevin,

I would be interested, one thing though, If I were to drive out there and spend the gas $$, I would think it would be cool to do an afternoon run at least OR maybe do a run on Sunday after some breakfast??

I am down for whatever, as long as the trails arent tough.

You bringing the runner or the 40 Noah?

The Just Runs post indicates that they are also spending Saturday night at the cabin. I was thinking of checking Horse Canyon on the way out. Those in stock rigs could explore Alder canyon. It is a nice trip up into a secluded canyon.

No problem. I may be scouting a few areas around Anza next week on the XR while I am supposed to be home on vacation doing things around the house for the wife.:D

Kevin,

You'll be fine down to Baileys Cabin and you have options for exploring Alder canyon as well. I have driven the Tundra down there with no issues.
