How are your rockers attached

These are the new door sills that i made from 16 ga steel, and 1/8" steel for the lettering cut on a waterjet. In one of the pictures you can see the original and how hagard it is. The painter that started this project didnt bother to pull the screws and remove the door sills. Instead he just pulled out the weatherstripping thus bending and tearing the originals to worthless status. We added 1/2" thick automotive insulation as well as trail tailor carpet. I still placed nylon spacers under the carpet where the screws can go through to keep the sill plates rigid.

Getting ready to add AC for the :princess:, and maybe a little for me too. I've got the NipponDenso dash unit = so looking for the under the hood stuff. rather have modern more efficient rotary compressor etc. Anybody have experience adding AC - Vintage AC seems to have a good rep?

Thanks

Working on this Bob, looking at current condenser offerings, probably to be combined w/ a 3FE compressor.
Hmm Not a combination I had considered - I'll keep you up to date on what I'm finding.

Friend and local businessman was joking around that he could just never get onboard with an fj55. He doesn't like the lines at all. Attached is the picture of his jeep he is so in love with. Yeah i know its an fj40 but its how i got back at him. Not everyone has expensive taste for a 4 door.....

Give me a call next time you’re in town, I might be making some major changes here soon and you could benefit from some of these parts coming off my pig.

Cruiser Corps,

When ready with the kit maybe you could post a picture of what you're using. I wasn't aware that the Vintage Air was big enough for a 55.

I would be happy to put a kit together for under the hood on the AC using Vintage Air. We are in the works building a complete kit as well.
Mike

It would be great if your condenser could use the factory holes in radiator cross-member so we don't have to cut...

The vintage air unit that we have been using on the 55s is not the same one as for the 40. We have installed a few now and have made a few changes along the way.

As well Vintage Air has made some recent updates with some of their stuff that has made a big difference.

We will post the unit as soon as we get it all put together in one package.

Wow! Your fj55 is looking great! I miss mine from years ago.
