Just a tip for those who will install a rack themselves. First crack ALL the bolts before removing any of them completely. Rather than being welded to the body the backing bolts are attached to a piece of steel which is only attached to the body with plastic guides. If you remove one bolt and then go to crack the other the torque breaks the plastic part and then the whole assembly of two nuts attached to the piece of steel just spins freely beneath. I unfortunately learnt this the hard way.

Here is a random internet pic to give you an idea of what the design of the nut plates look like approximately. Was not smart enough to take a picture of the actual ones when I had them in hand but as you can see both sides need to still have the bolts in if your really going to apply pressure.

Thanks for that info! Good to know.

Bringing this back. Anyone have a pre-16 TLC rack they want to sell? Anyone have luck with buying the rails new from eBay? They all ship from China, but they look to be the same. I need to replace the rack on my 09 LX with a full length rack from a TLC

I have the Chinese TLC rack. Fits fine and plenty sturdy but badly faded from the sun. It’s definitely not OEM fit and finish.

Have the OEM rack from my 2010 LC. Pm me if you’re interested.

Yup, it's the exact same. Had to drop my headliner to get to a couple of them that dropped down... was yucky.

Have any pics of dropping the headliner? I went to install a new rack today and it seems the previous owner left me a nice surprise one of the plates was only attached to one bolt, I'm going to have to drop the headliner to get to a fix I believe.

Which mount? I had to do the rear antenna and basically had to removal the side paneling and all the way to the c pillar. Didn't take any photos but just take your time. Hopefully someone will put some photos.

I just wanted share my Roof Rack experience. The full roof racks have their uses and they look good, ext, but, on my newest LX I went with yakima bars instead. For me they are far more useful than the full racks, as my main purpose is carrying sports gear. I have the ski rack attachments, the cargo box and fly rod holder. I can swap them on and off quickly, and switch them between vehicles I currently own and when I sell a vehicle I keep the yakima/thule stuff and use it on the next SUV. Also, in my opinion, nothing beats a cargo box. It locks, it keeps stuff hidden, there's no need to tie things down, easy to access and its weather proof. A cargo box on regular old cross bars is just hard to beat for me. Plus the ease of installation and the fact that you can just pick them up at REI or wherever is great.

The only advantage of the full rack that I can see is the ability to put things like extra gas can, and propane, stinky trash (poop cans, please don't s*** all over the place people, pack it in pack it out!) ext up there. I have a rear bumper to store that kind of stuff. But yeah, I have had the full racks and I prefer cross bars.

Can I add a Yakima bar closer to the front of my lx570? The 2 stock roof rack bars are too far back on my lx570. Need to mount my box farther forward to clear the rear spoiler.

My front crossbar is mounted at the rear edge of the sunroof. I have a 2016 LX, and I know they changed the roof rails that year on the LX so keep that in mind. Mine also didn’t come with cross bars.

My roof box fits fine and clears the rear hatch.

Long shot, a Frontrunner Slimline II for a GX470 came up for sale locally. I don't suppose there's any chance this would fit on a 200 series TLC?
