Not sure if you've tried this, but usually when mine is having issues starting up I hit the square toggle button on the top pull down menu that displays the running apps in a carousel. Then you can swipe the carlink app up. That seems to stop the process and restart it. Only a couple quick clicks. Marginally better than going all the way settings.
I'm not talking about carplay/AA. I'm talking about just bluetooth connection to play music. I don't really care for carplay.

I have never used that square button before. Much quicker!

Just documented some things I learned during my install in my build thread. In short:
- Distortion fix
- SIM card and USB ports in the glovebox
- Dual USB-C mount in cigarette lighter
- Better mounting screws for the headunit-to-bezel connection
- Tip to get the wires plugged in easily and the headunit connected to the rest of the system last
- Some other misc things

If you're installing from scratch, it's probably good to review before you start.
Just got my unit off of @Squ1dward and reading through your post. You referenced moving your SIM card to the glove box. I looked at my unit and the SIM tray is located on my head unit
Alright I think I am good to go. You were correct, having those tools made removing the pins super easy. I was able to get everything located in the correct slots and tighten up the connections. The quality of the sound is much better now.
Thanks for all of your help getting this sorted out!
I got the tools today and trying to do the wire relocation. how did you go about unlatching the connector from the harness?

For future folks attempting this wire switch. here's the front end of the harness. You'll want to use the small pointed tool. if you look at the empty unused slots you'll see how the plastic tab works. Manuever your tool so that you can lift that tab upwards so you can pull the wire out. When you pull the wire out you'll see an opening on that plug that would catch on that plastic tab. Insert it into its new home remembering to rotate the plug so that it will catch on the tab.

Spent some time wrapping the wiring harness with some friction tape to clean things up. Waiting for a male RCA with bare wire on one end to tap into the factory rear view camera wiring so I can do the install in one shot.

I need to do this. My canbus boxes rattle behind my radio

Received my RCA cable with the bare wire on one end. Used a few posi-tap to tap into the camera -/+ terminal as well as the trigger wire from the camera module per this post. Note I’m waiting on a replacement 4G antenna because the connector on the original one fell off. Once i get that I’ll go ahead and do the complete install of the Teyes CC3

Am I the only dummy with the issue? Can’t seem to figure it out and very very ready to be done with this project !

What’s weird to me is everything is sitting nice up top and the bottom - just not where they meet. If I get this to sit nicer on the bottom I feel like I’ll have the gap up top. And the only way I think I can get it closer to the bottom is by backing out the bracket screws from the head unit and unclipping it from the bracket that the teyes bezel sits into - and if I do that I don’t think it’ll be a tight fit and will just be floating in there and move like crazy.

I feel like I’m dong something wrong. Am I missing screws in my zoom in pic? I can also confirm everything was a tight as hell fit back there and felt I was forcing the bracket screws back. I tried rearranging wires a thousand times and this was the best I could get it.

Thanks for any advice

View attachment 4008114Mine looks like that as well. It bugs me, but I decided to live with it

Ugh - man hate to hear that with something front and center you gotta look at every drive! I’ve got a few more hours of tinkering left in my before I give up. Will report back if anything comes up

Just ran out to my rig, don't have the teyes unit installed but it looks like the bottom section is not installed all the way. Can't recall if there are some snap fittings behind there or not.

Side question for anyone, for the pin 60 repair that's famous on the 2004 MFD. I can get around doing that with this teyes unit correct?

Hmmm hyperlink not working for me…

My advice would be to keep your wire mgmt of the teyes harness in check from start to finish. There’s just not enough room back there for a mess of wires

You’re right though. Dealing with the wire management is important. I took the time to cloth tape the harness to help minimize the mess

The T’eyes unit should sit flush against the radio bezel. Mine looks like the factory meant for it to be there. Check the brackets to make sure you didn’t bend them cramming it all back in. Maybe you have the screen attached to the bracket wrong?

Keep working on it. It’ll fit right.

Definitely possible to get it flush - but takes some finagling. That top part of the wood bezel has two compression clips that slide into the openings on the bottom tabs of the teyes bezel. Gotta make sure that it lines up in there. I might try starting with those two inserted first and then start snapping in the rest of the wood piece. Hope that makes sense?

Looks like Teyes has a new version out the CC4 Pro. Has anyone inquired about it working for our 100 series?

So I did actually speak to them on this. Apparently it will fit in the same frame as the CC3 so not fitment issues. As far as everything else they said it should be exactly the same as the CC3.

I took that as the problems some people now have will still be happening on the CC4. After doing some googling and using a lot of google translate for Russian I really didn't see the need for the newer model. Also, I assume the AUS units don't do this but the CC4 Pro in Russia does a lot of data gathering on you. So on the off chance the AUS or US version did any of that I elected to skip it.
