Thank you.Glad to hear it.
Steering is a little slower to respond and also you have the feeling of a super duty type steering damper. Road feel is okay.
Doesn't sound like a win. Would you do it again if you had to?
Steering is a little slower to respond......Road feel is okay.
There are ways to help with issues like that. Usually involves drilling out a restrictor plate in the pump to increase flow (this is what I've been told...no personal experience), I haven't seen the inside of the 80's pump to determine if it's a possibility. You could also add a belt driven pump from PSC or similar that has better specs than the OEM one.
There are options...
Reason for my hesitancy....
I realize fluid dynamics plays a role and sizing a ram to the pump output could address the on road sluggishness of the steering.
In talks with ram suppliers, the pump was always stated questionable, regardless of the fluid capacity, as it can only keep pump so much before the ram (best I can described. Not technical) sucks more than the pump can push.
Can't increase the pump flow, as scotia proved.
Can't change the pump.
My question is, wouldn't the cavitation be pronounced enough to hear during normal driving?
Do you hear it on road?
I have already upsized my reservoir, and looking for a good cooler unit. thinking of the derale unit.
