I just finished the conversion last Sunday. As of today, my center console now looks like a Landcruiser. Everything went pretty smooth. I took my time as I soldered and heat shrink every connection or open end wires and triple checked every wire I moved and cut. Jerry's instructions were pretty accurate. Bracket part number 86207-60020 and 86208-60020 worked without any mods.

Thanks Again Jerry for all your efforts.......

Bummer as of today.... My AC is blowing hot air. I'm sure its not related to the conversion....

Is that your same 8200 in there?
And which plastic surround is that.
I need the same one.

Looks great!

How did that fit with a regular USA pioneer double din? I'm missing something I think

Jerry, I just found out that my compressor is not coming on which explains the AC not working. AC no coming on means no power going to it. Could this be related to this modification? The AC worked after installation. Worked half day on Sunday and half day on Monday. its to much of a coincidence that my AC would just quit. Any suggestions??

I saw yours with a additional trim piece. And mine fits flush too using matching bolts on Toyota brackets. Maybe you need to order from the same source??

That looks pretty nice with the Land Cruiser parts. Now if you can find the wood to match it would definitely look factory. As for the a/c. Double check your connections as I had a few issue like that also. Just had to move everything just right and it has been a non-issue since. There were a lot of wires that had to be stuffed in there and mine was tight as hell. NICE JOB!

If it worked before then it shouldn't be the wires. That's weird though. Let me think about it for a bit.

Funny thing about the plastic surround, I've ordered 4 from 4 different vendors, even after talking to them through email they all ended up being he same.

I'll order another one when I get back. I was going to order the widescreen Kenwood from Malaysia just to get the space filled.
Do you think you're low in r134a?.

The temp sender wire, the pink one, did that get in ok?

For anyone else searching, it's the
DFP-11-15 Car CD Stereo Double Din Fascia
That fits standard double din. Thanks for finding that my friend, most all the others are wider.

Yeah I sort of got lucky that I found the right one. I specifically did not order from the same place that is mentioned in this site in hope that I can find something different.

Re: R134a that was my thought at first, which why I took it to the AC shop right away. They are doing the trouble shooting for me and they did mention that is a little low but not enough to turn off the compressor. The are thinking the relay is bad. They will continue to trouble shoot it tomorrow. They are only charging me $95 for troubleshooting. I will have them charge it as soon as they find the issue.

If I remember correctly the pink one is the custom wire. I will do a continuity test tonight. I checked and wiggle some wires last night too and got nothing. I'm just a little bummed because I pulled/tug on those solder wires as a test prior to heat shrinking them so I know the connections are solid. Last night, I did notice that the AC button is now blinking when I turn on the AC.

The silver is nicer. I think I've seen pics of silver side vents, the long whole assemblies.
That bottom surround is probably worth 250. Idk.
If it's blinking now, the AC button, you'd think connections are solid.
I didn't want to say the relay word, you know what that means. Lol.
I have had difficulties with 24 gauge wire on some of those. Getting the pink wire onto that custom terminal was a pain on every single harness. I always checked continuity in all of them.
Others here have had the same issues with the instrument wire splices. You already had it working and the compressor was working so I'd assume it was good and then see about clutch relay and check blower motor and blower motor controller.
I can't wait to get home and order that better surround. Among other things.
It's been 70 days since I ordered any Toyota parts. I'm having withdrawals.

Got the spare wood dash from e-bay and carefully went to town with the hack saw. Here are the results. Not to bad..... I wonder if I can return the side vents.

I can buy them from you in Sep. Mine have hairline cracks from taking them on and off so much.

I think Logo Lexus will take the return for a full refund. Thanks for the offer.

A/C started working this morning and worked all day. Sounds like a relay issue to me which is inbound.
