God yes it's worth redoing. That's the fusible link(s) and it/they appear to have been halfway repaired. If the actual fusible link part of the wiring has been replaced with plain wire, that's a big fire hazard if something were to short out.
The 1st pic of mine above is generic bulk FL wire. You'd use that to rig up a replacement without using OEM.
The OEM stuff is FL wire already with proper connectors (the big gray ones in all the pics) and a terminal on the battery side. It's a plug and play replacement. Generally, you want the OEM part.



If you were to make your own, how do you calculate the appropriate length?
Or is the critical size consideration the cross section?

Is that a fuel pump block off plate?
