As of now, there is no main replacement for the 2006, but there is a aux replacement correct?

Do you have any PDF for install instructions and what not?

Can you clarify the gallon size of the oem replacement? And if it's ready for sale yet?

What lift are you using, and did you have to change out springs with the added weight of 24 gals of fuel?

I'm running a modded AHC lift w/ 80 series springs. Full of fuel, the total weight of the system probably adds 170 lbs or so. I usually transfer fuel when my main is at the 1/2 mark to keep the weight centered as possible. I've been running this aux tank for over 12 years now.

Correct. There was a change to the top of the OE tank in mid 2005 and we do not have a solution for later trucks, not likely that we will, given market size and demand.

The aux is approximately 24 gallons, yet to be confirmed in place. First install will be later this month and written instructions (US style) will follow. The LRA instructions are at this link https://longrangeautomotive.com.au/file/1539/1030 - we will have an instruction document more like the 200 Series kit seen in the attached instructions.

We will have them in stock in April, but they don't last long, are often sold while in transit.

Also, here is a video from Ryan Bascom at @OTRAMM - great guy, great shop. Similar job, not identical, but good overview. Anyone needing top tier support for their Toyota in the Mid Atlantic area should have him on your speed dial.....

Thanks. I was afraid of that - I've had a few times when crawling when I game down pretty hard on the rear frame rails - I'd hate to see the outcome of that with the fuel tank hanging down.

@wardharris - reading back through this, it looks like maybe the spare tank for the 03 model (which hangs slightly below the rear frame rails) might have some extra armor for protection - is that correct? Maybe I misread, but if that's the case and the assumption is that the tank is at least moderately protected back there, I'm in!

So no 40 gal Main replacement in mid-May?

For a 2006 LC, will the aux tank fit like post #39 on page 2 of this thread? Is there a skid plate available on the market to protect it?

Hi, any help on my previous post would be much appreciated. My mechanic needs a definitive list for my mods.

What would the cost be for a 40 gal aux shipped to CO?

Ward,

It was great talking to you this evening. I am leaning towards both the 40gal replacement AND the 40 gal aux. I will contact you tomorrow.

OPEN BOX SPECIAL :bounce::bounce2:
Early 100 Series LRA Replacement Main Tank 40 Gallons 1998 - 2002

$1,295 DELIVERED

This tank business is an adventure.... it turns out the current LRA replacement tank will not work with later (2003+) 100 Series. We found this out the hard way :(

SO..... we have a couple of needs/opportunities.

  • First, we need to find a home for a new tank that didnt't fit in a 2003+ Hundy due to new emission configuration on later 100s.
  • Second, we need to ship it back from the installing shop.
  • Third, we need to improve the installation documentation - and would love to find a 100 owner who would like to get a screaming deal and provide us with some narrative and some good photos
Anybody interested?

We will send you the tank and pay shipping, plus knock off $300 from the retail kit price of $1,595 for a net, delivered cost of $1,295.

Yes, it will work in a 1998-2002 US 100 Series.

First come, first served :bounce::bounce2:

If interested, PM or call Ward Harris @wardharris at 209-636-0831

Thanks! :cheers:

PS Yes, we are working on aux tanks for all 100 Series (early and late) plus a conforming replacement main tank for the 2003-2007 100 Series. ETA late Summer/Fall.

Here are some snaps of the replacement main tank we have on offer.

Still have the tank. I have a 99 LC and am interested.

Any plans on a 40G replacement that will fit 06-07's?
Just a few posts above:

I have the 40g replacement tank in my 1999 and love it. The extra weight doesn't cause any cruiser lean with OME 2866 coils. I regularly hit 450 miles to the light and regularly have 5-6 gallons let in the tank when I refill, so theoretically I should have a 500 mile range.

Too bad I have an 06LX. I guess the only way now to extend fuel range is the spare tank. Hence moving the spare tire to a rear tire carrier either a swing-out on the rear steel bumper (aftermarket) or one of those hitch attachment accessories.

Also if you do the 24 gal aux tank you would technically have 8 more gallons on board than the 40 gal main replacement. Also with the 40 gal replacement, you will loose a bit of ground clearance.

I see that there are no issues with the Slee rear bumper. Any known issues with other aftermarket rear bumpers, Dissent, ARB, etc.?
