that beast of a van has been returning 25.7 mpg since i started using the cruise control at 90kph.
beats the hell out of the gassers even at cheaper fuel costs (regular gas $1.18.9)
uncles gassers have been returning 15 mpg... i might have to change my mind on selling the old beast.

What I'm interested in is your real average.
As I wrote in an earlier posting, dropping your topspeed from (let's do some easy calculations) 150 km/h to 100 km/h does not mean that your average will drop from 150 to 100 km/h.
In real life you have to halt (stopsign, wait for railwaycrossing) or slow down (speedlimits, slow traffic)
So your average when topping 150 km/h could be 90 km/h whereis topping 100 km/h could result in an average of 80 km/h. Covering a distance of 360 km's then would need 4 hrs (top 150) or 4.5 hrs (top 100 km/h) So over 360 km's you would effectively loose only 30 min !!!
There was a time I had to travel to work over a distance of about 300km's. I tried several times to find out the difference in time driving like mad or taking my time. I took my time after several attempts to save more then half an hour, which I failed.
I think this is fairly right as far as you are driving in Europe, but is that also where you live?
Have read no complaints about these prices from Norwegians on this forum
I've been looking into some particulars for my holiday trip to Norway this summer.
Found out that diesel fuel over there is the most expensive in Europe: over 1.62 eurocent per liter or 9.74 USD/gallon.
Bummer......they have their own oil fields and are one of the bigger exporters of crude oil in Europe.
Ron .. please correct me if I'm wrong ..
But 1 US Gal = 3.78 Liters ?
Nothing to correct here Tapage. You're dead on.
There is a dry US gallon as well but that's hardly used. In general, when talking about a USgallon it's the gallon equal to 3.78 liters.![]()
one of the first thing i noticed when i moved here is how people drive, you would think gas is free... V8 gas full size trucks flying everywhere...
If people really want to lower their fuel cost then use public transit, car-pool, buy more fuel efficient vehicles, stop speeding, and don't waste fuel in grid lock bumper-to-bumper traffic. But, oh no, that would require some personal initiative, and it's a whole lot easier to blame someone else and expect the govt. to fix things.
No, you are absolutely right on that one. But push people hard enough and you will see a revolt! It's just a matter of severity and a matter of time... Look at history, there have been many examples...83bj60... have you ever seen the government do anything good for the middle class?
don't get personal with me you little s***, or you'll get the same right back at ya.I know you are conflicted, but come on! Get out of the politically correct quagmire and think for yourself!
