I don't get why gas is now down to 126.9 at Superstore and diesel is still 136.9. Winter is over and wasn't very cold in the first place. Usually by now diesel is par or less than the cost of gas. This keeps up and the wife is likely to let me start a used veggie oil operation.

Roger that
Up north diesel is 133 and gas is slightly above that
Down here i paid 139.9 yesterday while had is 130

Bastards

diesel is $1.28
gas is $1.29
diesel never changed as gas went through the roof and back down. well, here anyway.

You must of hit it just right Christian. It is 134.9 at the Flying J this morning. We should have this up as a sticky on our club's section: Pilot Flying J

I should have said this was when I filled up after the HAM course on Sunday. I didn't use the Flying J, I used the United Petroleum one that's really hidden in behind some warehouses.... You can see it from the ESSO across from the Flying J but you have to go further down the road to get to it as it is blocked with barriers if u try and go from the ESSO truck stop there.

Diesel tax?

There is 30+ cents of federal tax on a gallon of diesel in the U.S., which is crazy for a country in recession. The economy is based on getting goods to a market, and everything is inadvertently based on transport. If it cost to much to ship people won't buy( i.e. stuff from Man a Fre ) And that isn't counting state tax by the way.
Diesel is more efficient, lower carbon emissions than petrol, and cheaper to produce.
Asia and Europe are 50 % diesel vehicles on the road. U.S. is less than 10% for diesel vehicles. Partly due to the family of 6 liter diesels GM had in the 80's. That is what allegedly turned public opinion against diesels. So when you are writing your congressman about Gun laws and gay marriage drop a line asking them to explain why we are shooting ourselves in the leg on economic growth, to get the money to fix the roads. The will tell you that vehicles that use diesel are usually heavier and cause more wear and tear on the roads. But where are these improvements to the roads. Hurricane Rita the one after Katrina knocked out the diesel refineries around Houston. The price of diesel went up and never came back down. HMMMM.......Believe it.......or not.

$1.12 per liter here in Calgary at the discount places.

132.9/L here in Abby yesterday at the cheapest spot. The only thing that made me feel better is that reg gas is now 132.9/L or more (except at Costco - 128.9/L).

Still waiting for the summer diesel fuel prices... :meh:

Well Chuck & his new bride is over(in Canada) to pick up all the Canadian Tariffs & Crown Land funds .

No worries Guys , it's only costing us Canadian tax payers 800 G for this Visit .

Now Get back to work & pay the Crowns way !!

VT

If your lost , go back a few pages on this thread & learn up on the Common Wealth deal we pay.

what is funny (sick) is when i posted up that we still pay homage to the Crown there were those that live in denial.
we need to invite the powers that be to cut the umbilical cord between the Crown and Canada
and then we need to sever the leaches from the people and start fresh.

ain't going to happen, we all know that.

i will say this though, more and more people i talk to are ready to actually do something if they had a leader to follow. look at the riots in Quebec going on, the young adults are sick of BS. the older are sick of it.

Wayne, the crown is only about 0.00001% of the problem; but it is a good illustration of the problem. Very few politicians will ever change the 'status quo'. After all, it is the status quo which got them elected into their cushy jobs and will give them benefits (diamond laced pensions and corporate directorships) long after the electorate gives them the boot. What gets me is they claim they are in the public's service. What a bunch of BS. Rant out... :bang:

Oh, and diesel is still 132.9 yesterday but gas was down to 128.9 at Stupidstore.

While I occasionally complain about still being attached to Royalty I also have to reflect and thank our lucky stars that that is our heritage and Canada is my home. I look around the world and there are a hell of a lot (all) who have it bad. We have it pretty damn good here. I tire of people who should be rejoicing at the quality of their life yet they cry the blues about how bad things are.

And those kids in Quebec protestiing their stupid low tuition fees.....Geebus, what are you talking about Wayne? Talk about sucking on the public teat, WE pay that subsidy dude. If they think that everyone deserves free post secondary education, who's gonna pay for that?

ya .00001% ?? I call BS

When I can buy a Canadian made products from USA cheaper than I can in Canada , THERE'S A FRIGGIN PROBLEM .

Gas stove made in Ont, Vinyl fence rails or a Toyota car made in canada and sold without the queens "TARIFF" ..(stove & fence brought up this year) Neighbour brought up a 2012 car for 12K less (made in Ontario)

CanuckSafari , you better figure out the "Tariff's " that we live under before you spout off .00001% .

In BC my rural taxes just came in , UP again , Insurance rates went up again , My income covers my taxes , but we haven't had a pay increase to keep up with inflation (3% is BS, more like 7%) since 2008.
For me to purchase a 16 oz can of Bush's texas ranch beans in usa for .87 at winco or canadians presidents choice brand for 1.67 ..Yes the food tariff. Since they now have increased the import limit thru the border to 800.00 .. All of my shopping will be from the states.

Buying bulk foods at a few local major food outlets , I can almost double the amount of food for what the fuel & food receipts total. I bought 20 oz can of pineapple slices in it's own juice , case lot sale for .58 each , good till 2013 ..
Let's see any can of Campbell soup at my "save on foods" store go under 1.00 , or just for NOW , today's flyer has California's Almonds for 1.49 per 100 grams or 6.78 per pound (1.49 X 4.54 = 6.78), while i just brought up California's Almonds that i paid 2.86 per pound at Winco .. Give me the truth of WTF ??
& yes , my fuel thank gets filled while im down there & it also returns to it's correct size of 12 USG (no Volume Correct BS and free taxes on nothing put in your tank ) .

Many Canadians might really want to look into the WHY ? of all this ..

My Rant is , paying the Crown till we become a New Zealand financial crisis .

 Local pharmacy run out of Midol? :hillbilly: I see your location is BC and WA, so if you don't like it here, you got more options than most Canadians. BTW, there is a little thing called NAFTA that removed most tariffs between Canada/US/Mexico trade. And the discussion was referring to the Royal Crown (aka the monarchy) and the cost of the visit - not to be confused with her majesty's loyal government.
