good eye dan. yep, duct tape. i need to work on the set screw holes. i can't get them all the way in so i need to tap them so the screws will go down all the way against the levers. meantime, duct tape it is.

got the right hand cylinders done tonight.

as splangy mentioned, the kits from gws rare spares are awesome. everything except the cylinder housings and adjusters. fit was good too (except the little bleeder caps, which no aftermarket ones are worth a crap).

shots of the front cleaned up housing and the rear housing before cleaning. you can see they needed some cleaning and resealing, and numbers on the boxes for prosperity.

everything got painted, although, oddly, i'm out of black, so they got what i had in the cabinet. that meant white on the springs and safety orange on the cylinders:D

also a shot of the hose the parker store made, utilizing the existing ends. pressure tested to 3k lbs at 45 sec. should hold up just fine.

oh, and pighead, it's empty....:frown:

So does this mean that at the swap meet you'll have the drum off with a mirror on the ground to accentuate the details?

god no! the concours judges will take points off since they're not factory color ;)

finished the rears and master a few days ago. front kits are here, but pighead wants to test drive with just rears first and make sure everything is kosher, so tomorrow, we'll bleed and test drive and i'll move onto the fronts.

few pics
first showing the master setups, top is brake master, middle is clutch master. spring was reversed and valve is added to brake, it's left out on the clutch. very bottom is new stuff. caps were different too, but i can't determine for sure which is which as the two new (unmolested) units are installed and running ;)

pistons, two oem, one aftermarket. i reused the oems and switched the seals over

new boot and redone

not quite as cool as it would've been if the can was plated instead of rattle can :frown:

So you're definitely bringing Annie to the swap Ige? I can't wait to crawl around that thing.

yup. have to bleed the brakes again and i'm working on finally getting the framework for the softtop finalized. rear bars are doneish (need cleanup grinding around the welds and paint) and i'm trying to get pieces above and behind doors figured out now, which is a bitch to do going off pictures and measurements.

so, i'd say i've been lax in updating, but the simple fact is we've been crazy busy. pighead wanted to test the rears before we did the fronts, so we did a quicky bleed and went around a couple of blocks. at about 10mph, it will put you through the windshield. wooohooo. amazing what getting the pistons to actually move freely will do

so, last weekend i tore the fronts down. they weren't doing much either. while trying to get one piston out, i took a small chunk from the cylinder  but all four are now rebuilt. again, pics have part numbers for posterity.

with the tires coming off, it was nice to be able to really scrub up the rims. they look dang sparkly now :)

wow, i like this five picture thing....

also cleaned up the rears of the rims. i like clean....sorry. no i'm not.

i also wanted to work on the detents for the hubs since they never did turn/adjust and one of the levers would come loose. here's what the detent for the dualmatics looks like. they take a 5/16-18 plug, spring and ball. we got a section of bulk spring from the hardware store and cut it to match, nice thing was, the new spring is much tighter. i do think i'll lose points as the plugs we picked up were allens tho ;) i ran a tap in where the plug threads, put the heavier spring in and added some grease to keep the ball from corroding in place

and here's what's been keeping me busy. the rear bows that i still need to make look pretty and borrowed door frames to figure out where the pieces above and behind the door need to go.

along with a little something to bring her back to stock :D

Looks like you need to find some OEM rims ige, I'm sure treeroot has some :D

No, needs early tires for the split-rims...

Awesome thread (if I haven't already said that but should have considering how many times I have consulted it and will continue to consult it for information), but split rims? For Annie? I don't follow.
