Anyone following along here have a factory skid plate for this thing or know of anyone that has a parts pile for 70 series?

Nolen,
Not exactly a direct answer to your question ...
I have a skid plate that could serve as a template if fabrication of a non-factory plate is deemed acceptable (or necessary).

Good luck

Which skid plate? The one under the transfer? The one for my Ute was missing when I got it. I do still have the one from the BJ70 I parted out but haven’t tried to install it yet since I think one of the captive nuts is missing.

These have full plates like a 40/55/60 not just a little thing under the skid

There are a few of us, it is a natural progression isn't it? So many things about my troopy just feel so familiar, @wngrog might come around after this build
I was quite surprised how "modern" the Troopy felt when I first got it, compared to my Pig.

The ARB is a nice simple upgrade to the stock bumper and since the spare goes nicely on the door there is just no reason to have a big complicated swing out.

The bumper is for all 70 series but there was a decorative plate that was for the 76 series that I could not make work as designed but after a few cuts was able to get it on the 73.

Super clean little bumper from @cruiseroutfit with a OEM style pintle via @Racer65

Great truck!
When you get a chance, would you mind measuring from the left edge of the big door to the spare carrier mounting bolts? Mine have been bondo’d over and I can’t see any trace of them from the outside or get at them from the inside to try to poke the bondo out…

I found 20 threads on floor mats in the 200 section but amazingly, there were no mat arguments in this forum.

I made some work nicely via Auto Zone

Jeori has one…..or 10. He’s off hunting in Europe. I’ll get one when he returns.

DIY 70 series sliders. 57” so perfect for the HZJ73

JEGS sells these. $350 shipped. I got one side done and ran out of welding wire. These will be a functional step as well as rocker protection. These will be nice for when the lift goes on as it will be a bit trickier to step up in

Got side two done. Added come gussets on the upside. I’m sure the plates are designed to “45” off the bottom of the frame but they would have gotten in the way of the skid plate.

The front support leg needed some custom fab to work around the exhaust. Basically made a 1/4” plate off the frame to get around it.

Off to powder……
