Got side two done. Added come gussets on the upside. I’m sure the plates are designed to “45” off the bottom of the frame but they would have gotten in the way of the skid plate.

The front support leg needed some custom fab to work around the exhaust. Basically made a 1/4” plate off the frame to get around it.

Off to powder……

Oh I have seen far worse welds my man. 😉

Cheers

It’s amazing how busy these engine bays are but I managed to find a great spot for the 24v ARB compressor. I used Rivnuts to attach it to the inner fender

Have you looked under the hood of a 13BT powered cruiser? Makes the 1HZ look downright cavernous.

Ive spent exactly the amount of time it has taken me to bleed brakes, add this wiring and wire the winch looking at any Toyota Diesel motor so nope.

Battery 1….Battery 2…..24 volt stuff. Getting it.

Not all diesels are 24volt, Australia is one of the 12V countries.

Nice of them to put both batteries on the same side though
Mhm, kind of. I suppose this is on RHD vehicles only.
In my BJ73 LHD, one battery is left and one is right. With a long connection wire going all the way round the cooler.
I assume 74s LHD are same setup.

Got the sliders burned on. These fit this wheelbase very nice. The only major adjustment I had to make was passenger front to get around the exhaust. First pic is my solution. That is between the spring hanger and the crossmember.

I’ve wired the 24v compressor like ARB recommends.

Red + to Battery 2 positive

Black/white to to Battery 2 negative

Solid Black 5 amp to battery 2 negative.

The Powerprobe says I’m only getting voltage from Battery 2 at the 40 amp fuse.

Compressor has been tested with the powerprobe and it works.

Aight. I figured it out. Thanks @Onur and @SNLC for letting me bounce this off you.

Turns out the ARB diagram to use Battery 2 for positive and Battery 1 as negative is wrong. That only got me 12v

Must have pissed the relay off with all the messing with it as it was bad. I stole one off my FJ55 ARB and it fired up…..

Yeah.

Finally got the correct Dobinsons drawers today. GX….

I was going to use turnbuckles but decided I don’t like the look so I’ll work on bolting this all down later in the week when I get back in town

National Luna Dual Zone 55L is pimp too
