Nice, wish my dad lived on this side of the world to give me a hand. I had no one to help on Tuesday, when the hoist started to teeter-totter, I dropped it and figured I would wait for a set of extra hands to be available on Saturday.

Did you figure out the trans mount and cross member spacer deal, would love to see that setup.
I do have an idea in my head. At the moment it's just held I place with a jack.

Final fitment was set and it's now sitting on all 3 mounts. The rear transmission mount is on but the crossmember needs a bit more work to allow it to bolt in.

Everything is fitting great so far, even the stock intake horn.

Rear transmission mount. I took the stock Dodge isolator and added a 1"x2" 3/16th wall to space the mount down and also move the mount forward as the stock position interferes with the adapter. Still need to do something to allows the mount to bolt to the crossmember.

Clarance from timing cover and vacations pump to steering box. I have seen a few other 6bt 80 series and this area is ery tight, I would say it's the tightest spot on this entire swap.

Clearance from the panhard cross brace to oil pan (1/2")

Rear valve bucket to firewall seam. In this pic it's 1.5" but final position is 1.25".

Water pipes all clear, I may change the water outlet in brass a bit to get a bit better hose routing but as it is it will work.

Not a bad way to spend a half day. I'm on day duty this afternoon and all day tomorrow. Hope to eek out a bit of time on it Sunday.

Very nice progress, you must be feeling pretty good right now. It looks like you already have the mount on the cross member, how far off are the mount bolts from the existing holes in x-member?

They are about 1" rear of the stock ones, too close to the bend to fit a nut. You will see when it get there. I have a few ideas how to make somthing work just need a bit of time and materials to giver a go.

G
With any luck I will see for myself tomorrow.
Good luck tomorrow, it's a beast.

Watch to clearance between the timing case and the steering box, it's quite tight there. My engine side brakets and motor mounts are slightly different than your to compensate for it. I still need to install a 3/16th shim under the drivers side mount to move the engine away slightly. I ha e about 1/4" clearance now.

Yeah that does look tight! I moved my front lift point on the engine from the stock location to the front face of the head. Doing so, means The engine tilts over some to the passenger side when picked up. I am thinking that will be a problem with the clearance on the driver side.

A tip, put your hoist on the "1ton" I tried 1.5 ton and it did not get the engine in far enough into the engine Bay before the host hit the lower rad support.

Nice work Jeremy. Home stretch now. I'm still jealous you have a data plate. It makes ordering parts so much easier. The lazy Cummins guys won't look up anything for me without the number off it. I alway have to have part number in hand to order anything. @mryanangel Watch out for your heater core lines at the firewall when swinging the engine in or you will be pulling the dash out to replace a pipe like I had to.

I used to have a data plate, but I had to get a new timing case as my original was cracked from the KDP coming loose. I never got my data plate back from mumau diesel. I am going wrap my inlet and outlet in bright green painters tape so they are hard to miss tomorrow.

I just noticed your windshield washer bottle is on the wrong side. Did I miss that in your build tread why you moved it?

How much trans tunnel massaging did you need to do? I went to town with a 40oz dead blow on the front drivers side corner of the tunnel. Moved it in about 1/2" or so.

I moved it when I did the Isuzu swap, the stock one relocated with the Slee brakets was taking up too much relistate. This is the one off the 91-92 fzj80, it's nice and is factory.

This is good to know. I have the slee one, but if that interferes with the turbo or new airbox, this is a great solution...especially since I canned the charcoal canister and ABS pump.

Not a lot surprisingly, I needed to massage it were the starter bump out of on the bell. There is a floor brace that sort of wraps up the tunnel about 4 inches then ends. In front of that and above it in a 4" area I gently hammered it in about 1/2-3/4". I would also do the same on the passenger side just above the seam where that brace ends and back about 3-4" and about 3" high only need about a 1/2" more room there.

Yeah that is where I was massaging. I also moved that brace in a bit. I will do the passenger side too. What's the plan for Sunday?

Thank you sir, your build was a big motivator for my choice to go Cummins after my Isuzu issues.

The data plate is essential, every time I go into Cummins they are asking me for it as I walk in the door.
