My girlfriend drove her truck with the kids, we have a large extended family. The one good thing is she actually liked the roof tent enough she mentioned we should get one for her truck for when we have the whole family on a camping trip

Yup.
Several dents and 70k miles later, quite happy..
Pretty basic build so far. Still working on getting a RTT and fridge but the setup hauls the necessary gear for me, my wife and 4 kids...oh and a dog.
just a little bit further than u gone before..

Maybe a "basic build" but with stunning photography and writeups.
One of the reasons I revisit the 80 forum now and again. You gota throw down some HDR skills with some of those scenics next time, I bet they'd be great with that type of cloud-cover!
