thanks. It was in my inbox. My old brain playing tricks on me

Coming from MD, anyone have advantages of i70 over i80.

They both get boring at certain points, but I prefer I80. I think the western portion of NE is a bit more scenic than KS. When the interstate runs next to the Platte River, it's a nice drive. Each route has some tourist stops, but I think North Platte, NE wins that contest as well. It's home to the largest railroad classification yard in the world. I've always thought about rail transportation but to see how trains are constructed/sorted for their cross country journeys is fascinating. I suppose I80 is a longer trip depending on your start location, but what's the difference between 30 and 31 hours?!

Aside from the Method wheels and A/T tires I'll be stock. Running boards will be removed, hoping sliders installed. Communication, HAM or 2 way is next. Just something simple. Coming from MD, anyone have advantages of i70 over i80.

I prefer I-70. It seems traffic is just a bit lighter than I-80 and you don't have to deal with Chicago. Of course, you do get the joy of going through St. Louis, so pick your poison.

It is a long drive from the East Coast. I may look into shipping my LC to Denver this year.

I'm registered and definitely going to be there Friday and Saturday. It's possible I may make the Wednesday night dinner and wheel Thursday as well... depends on whether the national parks are open

I'd taken 80 to Omaha over the summer, for a car show, but in a race/show car it's a different beast. The only huge thing that stood out was the big truck stop in Iowa. 70 is looking more promising since I havent done it...

Whoa, I went to register this morning, only to learn that I am on a waiting list. Man - I didn't realize there was an attendance limit on this one. I am sure it is clearly mentioned. I hope that I am not too far back on the waiting list.

Heya Poup,

It just capped at 60 drivers within the last 48 hours. I’d wager you’ll be fine, since every event under the sun tseems to have 20% or so cancellation...

The system Cody and Coke set up it pretty slick, and I know they are keeping track...

Hope you can make it!

80, 70, and 40 are all super boring through the midwest. Set your cruise control, tie your belt between your steering wheel and your seat rails, and take a nap for half a day.

80 has the benefit of allowing you to stop at the world's largest truck stop in Iowa and Ozzie's Guns and Ammo at the Sinclair in middle-of-nowhere Nebraska. Also Carhenge is maybe an hour out of the way. OTOH 70 will get you close to the world's largest ball of twine, so you know maybe take one route in and the other back

I know we meet by 8:00am each morning and go from there but I can’t seem to find our meeting spot on the website. Can someone enlighten me?

We run out to UT/CO pretty much every year from NOVA. 80 is truly a sea of corn (like 1000 miles of corn), I prefer 70 as it has better eating options for the kids including starbucks and chick fil a

I run 70 each year from KY to UT and then CO and its an easy drive. set the cruise, turn on waze and look out for speed traps.

Well, I definitely didn't think there'd be a waitlist, which is pretty awesome if there is that much interest. I added my name to the list. Is anyone staying at a dog friendly hotel in town?

We found an Air B&B single house that allows a pet. You might wanna check. I think the Ouray Challet Inn might allow. -Right in the middle of town on the main drag (its a very small main drag). We stayed there a few years ago. Not fancy at all, but totally adequate. No issues.

We have a room at the Ouray Victorian inn. We stayed there year one. They only have two pet friendly rooms and we got one of them...

Sweet, I think that’s the place I looked at.

Heads up for campers who prefer a moderate amount of space and a nice view at their campsite. The six month advance reservation window is about to open at Ridgway State Park. If you’d like a two week reservation that overlaps with the LCDC event, the reservation window is already open. I reserved a site in the Pa-Co-Chu-Puk loop right on the river for our travel trailer.

depends on your definition of nice view :)

Ridgeway is a 18 minute drive North of Ouray , that is an important factor to mention. It is all about personal preference which view you like better :D Just say'n
