Need a room in town??
I am going to cancel a room we reserved at the Ouray Chalet Inn after finding an Air B&B near by. If anyone needs a room and would like to book this one...PM me and I’ll call to cancel when you are ready to book.
Ouray Inn isn’t fancy, but it’s super conveniently located right on the main drag, and perfectly adequate. Stayed there three LCDCs ago.
I’ll wait until later this afternoon in case anyone is having trouble finding a place.

I have rented a house before going through the VRBO site. I had 6 people. For 4 days it was about $1000 a couple of years ago. It was right there in town
Anyone know if 4J campground has any sites left? Left a message for them today and waiting to hear back.
My experience with them is they are not very good at returning messages. I would just call until you get a human and dont leave a message. Still the off season for them.
In season they are great and always there. I caveat that as I haven't stayed there in two years
Thanks for the tip Romer. I will try to call them a few more times instead of relying on them to return the call.
FWIW, I booked a tent site at 4J a couple weeks back. Also left a message and received a call back the next day.

Reservation made at 4J! They still have some sites left. Some camper sites with electric and water and electric only.

As of two hours ago, they had no more trailer sites. They had a no hook-up site for my 17' trailer and put me on waitlist for site with electric. Apparently there's a state swim meet there our weekend. Jill said if the kids don't qualify, then she expects to see some cancellations. Might be worth getting on their wait list as backup to whatever other plans you might do.
I just booked PT site # 12 arriving Wed PM and departing Sat AM. Didn't have room Sat night. So I will need to clear out Sat morning before our run. This campground is filling up quickly.
I've really enjoyed the last few yrs of this trip and hate to say I can't make it this yr. I'm going to keep following the thread and expect a ton of great pics! Cheers!

I didn't register. Wifey wanted to check out the UP in Michigan this year so I relented. Ha
Sorry I’ll miss you this year. I learned to ski in the UP a very long time ago. Damn it’s cold up there in winter.

We were up there over July 4th week last year. Lots of pretty easy forest trails in the Hiawatha NF for you to explore.
We are going to put together a VA trail run this spring April/May time frame. Big Levels, Flag Pole, etc.. I will ping you once we finalize everything if you are interested.
