There have been pictures here posting showing much more.

I was being sarcastic - it has a ton of flex out of the box. I'm really impressed by the factory travel. To me it looks like it'll RTI somewhere in the 750 range. Much improved over the outgoing model.

Since it's a picture thread. Check out the crazy flex you can get in a Defender!!

Oddly similar to the flex on my old 2000 Subaru Forester.

Which.....BTW....is still being driven my the new owner I sold it to, more than 24 years from it getting on the boat from Japan to the USA. How many 2000 LR's are still running around? The ones I see around here are quite literally parked in someone's front or side yard most of the time.

Ah, sorry - completely missed it.

The more pictures I see (thank you to those that are posting them), the more I am not sure about body lines. Not saying they are bad or good. Just not sure.

The Prado always looked top heavy.
This new one because its bigger seems to have remedied that but I still see it in some photos.
It looks like it has a big head.
Never felt the J100/J200/J300 have that issue ( though they have other styling issues lol )
Also the fenders maybe could have been abit more squared off ( like the LC300 )

Still not sure about the side window belt line either.

Honestly though overall excellent compared to the last gen.

I hate to even post this awful video because of the audio - but I'm digging the non-hybrid-battery-floor in the rear of this LC 250. I sort of wish the 250 came with an engine option matching the GX550.

That would get a GX550 to Prado conversion :)

No. There were two at the reveal for a couple days and one at Cruiserfest for one day only. There is just a small handful of pre-production vehicles in the country.

Would the museum be able to get a pre-production truck for the collection?
I think that would be something really cool to have in there, side by side with a production truck.

Or will they get crushed like the pre-production FJ Cruisers did?

Pre-production vehicles (of all kinds) are not "saleable" and are pretty much always destroyed at then end of their test life.

I read somewhere (want to say it was here on mud) that pre production vehicles are destroyed by the manufacture. I don’t think they will allow them to stay out in the wild.

Typical labeling...

100% true. Some test and pre-prod vehicles end up living a little longer pulling various duty around the plant grounds but they will never leave and eventually destroyed as well.

Seen this many times with Tundras, Tacomas and Sequoias.

As the proud owner of a new Defender, I just wanna say their traction control system is baller and is designed to not need as much flex.

with that said, I wish it flexed a little more, but I get it now after owning one. it’s an awesome vehicle.

the new defender is selling like crazy around here.
It went from a vehicle you rarely saw pre current gen to one of the most common vehicles on the road.
Reliable or not, it's a big hit.
