So will there be another production run after the last one is sold?

Probably, I just got a PM for someone willing to prepay which helps me greatly to be able to afford doing the run. If anyone is interested and is willing to prepay I'll get you the housing as fast as I can.

I can hardly say how impressed I am after installing the new MAF last weekend.

I run 5.29's with 35's at high altitude, normally aspirated, and it just feels like it is running effortlessly at 3K RPM/75 mph (I typically cruise @ 70 mph, as my tires don't much like 75+). With the stock MAF/sensor at RPM nearing 3K, there was a lot of engine NVH, and it is gone. I mean gone.

Downshifting is smoother, power delivery is cleaner across the power band, it's not like it is supercharged, but the truck feels "right" now - rather than always feeling like it is on the edge of bogging down on hill climbs it just wants to run. Even kicking out of OD on hill climbs at 3,500 - 3,700 RPM it is quieter than it was at 2,800 RPM before and wants to keep climbing.

I had wondered why the 80 labored so much at 3K when my old '97 XJ 4.0L spun happily along at that RPM on cross country trips. Now my 80 feels and sounds like it should at my slightly higher 5.29 geared RPM's, just an incredible difference in NVH and power delivery consistency in case that isn't clear :D

Get this mod. It is worth triple what it is selling for.

Paypal sent......might just have to install this & see if the wife notices:idea:

Might be a cool test:meh:

Thanks.

Nay, glad you like the mod and thanks for the compliments. Did you use a new sensor or a used one? One person sourced a used sensor and it soon after failed. He then got a new sensor and saw a good deal of improvement over what he experienced initially.

If anyone is sourcing used sensors, thoroughly clean them with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. You can look up inside the sensor and see the two wires that need to be spotless.

And...8 left

New sensor from CDan.

My wife commented on how I was actually keeping up with her as she was driving the minivan @ 75 mph when we had both the van and 80 out for an appointment - this before she knew I'd done anything to it. Usually I am bogging at 60 mph even with the 5.29's up the last hill on I-25 to our place.

Feels like I'm not at 7,400 ft. elevation anymore, perfect complement to the regearing, especially my lower gearing/higher RPM

Excellent R&D Rick! I've just spent the last two hours at work (and am still here at 6pm) reading all the threads as its the first I've noticed it (don't spend much time these days on the forum).

I see u have 8 left... I'll dig up my paypal info asap and try to get one on order by the weekend. I want to be the first to try to get'r through a smog test once I get the dreaded P401 code to clear! Its quite the debacle as I never got the registration notice and have been driving around with expired tags

Talk to you soon.

I'd like to get one on this run, whats the paypal info etc. Thanks in advance.

What is the typical cost of a new or used sensor (not the OEM housing)? Anyone know?
