Rick,

MAF sleeve is installed with no issues. For those intimidated by this install it really is a straight forward process, follow LT's install guide line by line and enjoy the satisifaction of doing this yourself. Thanks again Rick.

Hate to ask, but...what is the purpose of the sleeve, I have a 97' 80.

Thanks,
Keith

From post #269

there were concerns raised about the fact that the vacuum line needed to be removed from the fuel pressure regulator to keep the fuel trim percentages within the factory specs. So this sleeve shifts the MAF readings so that the vacuum line needs to stay attached.

If you have Rick's MAF housing then you might want a sleeve.

Hi Keith, the sleeve was to better tune the housing to the stock MAF and work with the sensing line to the FPR installed.

The initial housing needed that line removed.

So if you have one of the original housings(GENI) you can modify it to a GENII with the sleeve.

If you want a GENII housing ready to go they are available as well.

Installed with no issues.
I put the sleeve in the refrigerator for 20 minutes and last 10 minutes in the freezer.
Per instruction oven was 450*
What surprised me was how easy it was to slide the sleeve into the housing. I thought there would be a lot more friction and I was concerned with straggling with it at 450*.

But, it slid really easy all the way in, and there was plenty of time to rotate it for 100% alignment.
Two seconds to slid it in and 2 second to rotate for perfect alignment.

So there is time to do it slow and precise.

Thanks Rick

the difference between them is more of what you wouldn't notice.

I posted a bunch of data logs of 3 stock MAFs and two of my original MAF s in the 80 section. This was to show how the ECU adapted to changes with in the system to maintain proper fueling.

One thing that was pointed out to me was that when you graphed out the LTFT% the total variance across the operating range was about twice that of the stock sensors with my unit. Now with the sleeve installed I'm seeing the graph of LTFT% being half that of the stock sensors.

Installing the sleeve is all about improving it's compatibility with the stock system over that of the original design while still maintaining the originals performance gains.

Sorry just bumped your Castor template thread but would also like to know if you have these in stock. A PM on both is fine.

Do you have a MAF available right now? If so I would like to buy one. Will the sleeve come installed? What do you fab other than the seat track extensions and MAF? Thanks

I have one housing left and it is sleeved. It is 235.00 shipped and you can add a new OEM sensor for an additional 135.00.

Right now I have

caster plates
DIY panhard joints
HD sway bar links and brackets
modified fan clutches
modified Tacoma dc shafts
Charcoal canister relocation bracket

and soon

HD LCAs, oversized ends with 1.5" solid tubing extended to correct pinion angle as a result from lifting the truck.

Great! Put me down for the MAF and sensor. PM with payment instructions. That's all I need until Frankies gets some springs in...

Thanks

What it the ETA for additional MAF/Sleeves and Sensors? I am interested in adding, but missed your latest batch.

You have sleeves left? How much?
