Question for this thread - and possibly Rick:
Installed the LT MAF about a month ago. The guy who installed it called me say that it did not work; the truck was running very rough. I asked if he had re-wired the connector per the instructions that I had printed out and provided to him. He had not. He re-wired the connector and all was well. Truck ran better, with more responsive throttle. All good.
Then, about every third or fourth time I started the truck it would not catch (start immediately). I would have to crank the engine for 4-5 seconds and give a bit of throttle for it to start. After these rough starts the engine would stumble and sometimes die at idle. This typically happens after the truck is warm. CEL code is P0100 - Air Flow Sensor.

Could the initial mis-installation have damaged the sensor? If so, does anyone have the part number for the sensor appropriate to the Land Tank MAF? Other thoughts/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

It’s most likely the pins in the connector. Over the years the leaf springs in the pin relax. Take out the pins and use a tiny flat screw drive to bend the leaf and add some pressure.
When you first pull out the pin slide it on the MAF sensor pin, you will likely feel a loose fit until you bend the leaf.

Will do. Many thanks for the quick response Rick!

Hey Rick- You were right, pin is loose on the MAF sensor pin. The leaf that you said to bend is not immediately clear to me. Can you provide a little more detail on this procedure?
Many thanks, Ted

Many thanks to Rick (Landtank) for his support in troubleshooting an issue with my Gen-IV MAF. After eliminating other possible explanations for rough idle, he diagnosed a bad sensor and sent me replacement. Problem solved.
Customer support is a problem with many major corporations these days. Rick is a one-man operation, and his willingness to call and text me until we had the issue resolved was really exceptional. Very much appreciated.
BTW, the fully operational Gen-IV MAF has improved overall throttle response and smoothed out the idle on my truck versus OEM MAF. No data yet on MPG.

I'm with amay3, my service and support experience with Landtank is top shelf. And yes, my SC'd Landtank modded 80 never ran better.

Has anyone tried this set up on a Wits-End Turbo yet? I know Joey was talking about, but haven't seen an update...... Inquiring minds :)

Landtank offered great support on trouble shooting his products; I recently upgraded from his Gen II MAF to his larger Supercharger MAF with scaled injectors.

Excellent customer service!

Can anyone point me to a source for a MAF for a ‘94 FZJ80? The shop doing some work on my truck said they are no longer available through Toyota.

93-94 doesn’t have a MAF, but an AFM. A company called Split Second sells a conversion kit for the earlier 3FE, but not our engines.

This guy rebuilds AFM’s and does a pretty good job from what I’ve heard. This would probably be your best bet.

Are these still available?

@landtank - what say you?

I was on the site yest & seemed like it, but I was there really to poke at the injector upgrade setup & seeing if your S/C had pics over there I hadn’t seen here.
