Where can I get some more details on this? Also would like to see more pictures of the finish around the sides, and back with the seats up/down. Drawer dimetions, spacer options etc. Some specifications on the rollers used etc.

I have measurements and templates but have not cut the wings and fronts for the 80 series as I am still getting the first 20 out the door (Wed.). Then a quick trip out of town, then next week I expect to be able to proto & pic for y'all - watch this thread for 80-specific stuff.

@Stretched check first post or my signature for the link to all the info

Thanks @cruzerDave for some reason I clicked on that link earlier and it brought me somewhere else - obviously not enough coffee at that time in the morning.

Hey'all - an update that the December run is at 25 - I'd like to get to 30 based on how the plywood works out.

A reminder this is the last run until end of January, so if you're interested please sign up here: https://goo.gl/forms/oMxbyVENWjV5Osmq2

Group Buy Thread set up here:
Keep It Simple Storage (KISS) Drawers - Dec 2016

Please use the above for any questions related to this group buy, and we'll keep this thread just on 80-specific things.

I am test fitting some proto pieces into an 80 tonight and will post pics here. There's really just minor tweaks to the wing shape and the drawer front shape. The anchor pieces will be located in a slightly different location, but again, super easy. So anyone debating 'risk' of me getting these to fit in the 80s, you have nothing to worry about, except convincing your S.O. that you need them;)

I am traveling for work so won't have final final proto pieces off the CNC until Nov 21, at which point the buy would be closed, and hope that is acceptable. The alternative, if lots of folks really really need to see final pieces, is to kick the whole thing out a few weeks longer. You tell me in that group buy thread.

Quick note as promised to many, many 80 owners that wanted to know when the KISS Drawers would be available for them - NOW.

I have to run one beta to check my measurements and inevitably tweak the side profiles, but I am confident in that process now and certain they will fit perfectly in an 80 series after having one in my driveway to play with for a week (thanks Zach!).

I've set up an ordering form for you to secure your place in line here: https://goo.gl/forms/oMxbyVENWjV5Osmq2

General Q&A on the drawers should be in their thread here
We'll keep this one to 80-specific questions.

Price will be $575 (cost went up because of increases incorporating the wings & 80 series). Shipping same ($100 west of Mississippi, $120 east, free to pick up in Bend). Ship date will be 3-4 weeks after the run closes and folks pay - could be a week could be a month, and we have holidays getting in the way of things...

Thanks for everyone's patience and support as I've gotten the logistics figured out!
Dave

Food for thought on filling the gap between the drawer system and back seats for a sleeping platform. I installed a piece of plywood on hinges that simply folds back over the seats to create one solid platform. When not in use you can fold it back down and latch in it place. I bought a really nice comfortable matress from IKEA that fits perfectly on the drawer system. This would work great with your design and you could offer it as a feature if people want it.

I also fold this forward when I am going hunting and want to load a lot of equipment in the back of my rig. It creates a huge space. See attached photos.

@TexasJack - that's a really good idea, thanks for sharing it. I'm going to get a few more of these drawers into the wild before working on add-ons like this, as I only have so much time on the side;) For anyone wondering, I measured the gap against the KISS drawers last night on @ZackR's rig (thank you again!) and it looks like this:

I'm waiting on a response to an email I sent last week before I send payment. I assume Dave is still overseas so production will not have started.

I'll be paying after this weekend. Pretty pumped.

I'm paid up and committed, but I would still love to see them mocked up in an 80...

Hey guys, flying back today and promise to catch up on comms tomorrow. Enough paid to get rolling too!

Hey guys, sorry this took so long to get to you, and be aware that these are prototype photos, we all need to thank @ZackR for his time and patience while I crawl around the back of his truck in subzero temperatures!

The method of securing the drawers to the rig has changed from the 100 series. At first I wanted to stick with u-bolts for consistency in parts but the 80 brackets rise up above the floor, whereas in the 100 they are recessed. The problem there is the drawers would want to rock a bit on the mounts, with very little/no weight being distributed on the floor of the truck. I'm concerned about a lot of weight in a drawer cantilevering the frame down, possible wanting to shift a bit creating sliding problems, or honestly who knows what - but it didn't feel right to me or Zack.

So what I'm going with are bolts into the OEM holes for the brackets. The downside to this is you need to completely remove the bracket, but it's still the same number of bolts/nuts to loosen or tighten to remove/install, so only a tiny bit more work if you are going to swap in and out.

Here is where I'm measuring how long the bolts need to be:

And here is test-fitting my hand-cut proto pieces into Zack's truck:

The dado on the front of the drawer was so I could test it on either side, your fronts will be as expected-smooth. You can see the appearance/goal will be the same it is was for the 100s: 1/8-1/4 gap on sides to allow room for wings to swing, install carpet, or open the access panels.

I'll do one more fitment test with actual pieces off the CNC - it's actually quicker and easier than measuring all the curves and such, and just makes me feel better at the end of the day to know the pieces being cut work exactly as intended. Check the group buy thread for info on how *that* is going, and I'll post those pics here when I get the pieces.
