Crap all that powder coating for nothing! I could have sold the cow catcher to someone to hold their trailer house down here in tornado alley!!

1. My rear tub sill channel is shot (order or fab new and put in...and I've never even held a torch before so probably $180 from CCOT)
2. Driver's floor pan looks like swiss cheeze (again ccot or I think offroadlimo has one)

ill stop there as this is a ridiculous list for me to even think about at this point....hence the new Sig line!!!!

Sig edit: Can someone explain to me why every post creates the need for THREE more posts?

This thread:

lists this company:
http://www.pacolonline.com

Which CLC recommends you contact for your tub sill and maybe even for your floor pan. Highly recommended over CCOT.

Want/Need some opinions on this ya'll

ok so Pacol's total for the rear sill (with no holes pre drilled for the tire and door) plus the floor pan is $865 before shipping! they use 12 gage steel

CCOT has a floor pan and rear sill for $308 and the sill has all the factory holes for the tire and doors. they use 12 gage on the floor and aluminum for the rear sill

I know Pacol supports us and all.....but jeeze....that's steep.

I can't swing over $900 for shipped stuff from Pacol.....unless someone gives me some darn good reasons why!

i am finishing the tub prep this weekend and will hopefully start cutting out the old metal and maybe even get to the RB.

I'm guessing there's a miss-communication as to what you are getting from one of the vendors, causing the price difference. Suggest you ask for pics from Pacol to clearly define what you are talking about.

sent that email after my calculator told me that I couldn't order from them.....hopefully Ill get a response back today.

I'm not a CCOT hater anymore. They supported the Crawl this year! I roll with CCOT lower rear door skins.

Heard from Alexandra

OK the price variance is clear now. Greg was right. PACOL is selling a COMPLETE rear sill, CCOT just has the channel (which is where my rust is..so im going with CCOT unless I find rust outside the area I now have it.)

The driver's floor pan from CCOT is much smaller and just the large "rectangle piece" while PACOL's is the entire area under the driver's feet, seat and over to the gas tank, which wraps around the gear shift hump etc. I only need more of a patch under the drivers feet (probably rusted from salt on boots in contact with the same spot over and over and over and over again)

so with CCOT being MUCH cheaper and having just the metal I need I will probably go with them...just need the money!

One last option to explore is to see if you can find a piece of angle iron with the right demensions to fit what you cut out. I think several folks have done it that way.

Check out Oniel Steel express in pearl for angle iron. Or the corner of Lenny's shop in Madison.

Yes, I'm trying to find you a different option from CCOT. :o

jesus do not go buy angle iron! I have enough to red neck out all our rigs...

Unless Lenny feels like fabing both pieces.......I think i will wait on cash and get the CCOT stuff just so it looks relatively stock....ribs in the floor and holes in the right places on the sill etc......I know Greg doesn't approve, but im more into the stockISH look than a cut up trail rig....I don't plan to get crazy with my truck.......the 35s going on, a winch, family cage, and a few changes underneath are about it......I call it the retro refurb look.

Master Lenny......want another welding student?

Bring it. Sheet metal is just a bunch of tack welds. Just time consuming.

Take it to Lenny and see what the options are. Save yourself some money. A guy that works with me did his rear seal with angle iron and it looks stock.

There are some real good step by step threads on replacing the rear sill using square tube and angle iron. Do a quick search and make your shopping list and print the pics for reference. I'd like to help out if you need another welder/fabber.

awesome....there is NO hurry on this....should I go ahead and cut out the bad metal or leave it so I dont cut out metal you may want to weld back to for support?

Yeah Lash and Greg have mentioned that option.

ill start researching so I am worthy of holding Lennys "Magic wand" :D and I would definitely love another welder to help out.....left to his own devices Lenny may try to turn the 40 into an 80!!!!
