Glad you got it running. Did you install a regulator? The Weber won't like the extra fuel pressure for long if not. I just have a cheap dial type on mine and it's worked fine for years.

nope not yet ...regulator and another clear filter before the pump are on the to do list monday or this afternoon....I road around the neighborhood on a bucket and had to look over the windshield....didn't bother folding it down as I knew I had to do that work you are talking about.

and my PO found my cd face plate!!!!! woohoo..tunes!

Jeff/Lash/Greg/Andy/Anyone who knows:

So I bought a small plastic fuel filter to go bn the tank and pump ...it's a cheap o made by Luber-finer.
also got a Spectre fuel pressure regulator (looked at Andys and got similar) that has fittings for all fuel line sizes and adjusts for 1 to 5.5 psi. to go bn the pump and carb so the weber is happy and not getting to much fuel at one time.....read a thread about horror stories on that!

So does this set up sound good/similar to what yall run?:

1. tank
2. cheap clear fuel filter to check flow and get junk out before going into pump
3. pump
4. another filter
5. pressure regulator (or do this before filter?)
6. carb

What psi do you have yours set on Andy? I think it said 3.5 or 4...anyone else have one that is dial up capable......

thanks for the input....doing this after church tomorrow..and monday.....the angle grinder is getting a work out!!!

I think mine is set on 2 and I haven't messed with it in years. The set up I run is cheap non see thru before pump and see thru before carb after regulator.

I just looked and mine was set on 0.5 by the PO, not sure why. It has been sputtering a bit at low rpms and stalls easily starting in first (John you remember killing it on the way home), so I just turned it to 2.

good deal....well it's in.....I had to put mine on 3 bc it was idling good on 2, but then just cut off....drove down the block (got a few looks) to build pressure and it sounds great....no leaks.

i didn't kill it cause of lack of fuel....I just killed it:D the no power steering and headlights sending morse code is what got me distracted.....dialing up your flow should answer part of your problem though

I just took my lowes gifts cards and got a dremel and some blades for my angle grinder and some stuff for my wife.....$137 worth....but with the military discount and gift cards I didn't pay 1 red cent!!! so now I can make some headway on the tub project.

then got home and realized I can't remove the last stripped bolt from my roll cage bc the angle grinder has a different shield for it than for a wire brush.......honestly I can't win

remove the shield.

Fly fishing anyone

This isn't really relevant to my work thread, other than I found some holes under than tank, but I wanted to list the stuff I found under my tank:

1. about 2 pounds of ground dirt and old paint....just waiting to trap more moisture and make those holes even bigger
2. about $1.74 in change
3. a watch face
4. 2 fly fishing lures

bed

also did some angle grinding on the bed...see pics
yall think that is pitted pretty bad or will mutliple coats of rust bullet help seal it..i plan on durabak after that so I dont think it's bad enough to put bedliner down?

Also a certain Lenny may have a new student on welding....drivers floor pan and rear seal are SHOT.

Funny, that's the way they all look once you start wire wheeling them. You won't even see the pits once you bed line it. Keep at it. Got it lookin' good. Oh, have you pulled your flares off and trimmed the rear fenders? I think you might want to do that before you put the 35's on it.

ill add it to the to do list

Do a search on installing/trimming for flares. I remember reading some good tips. Remember your tires will move toward the rear when they move up toward the body, so you will need a little more gap behind the tire.

You're making great progress. Wish I had a decent replacement for under the gas tank in one of the parts trucks, but they're worse than yours. Keep it up!

thanks Lash and ill look for those threads on trimming.

you have a drivers floor pan or rear seal you want to give up? I think Rob (offroadlimo) has a drivers side I can buy off him, but I am definitely going to have to do that.

I think im going to continue angle grinding...do the rust bullet and then cut out what I need to

Nope. Sorry. The only sheetmetal worth a damn I still have: 1 hood, 4 aprons, and ~2.75 fenders. Looks like the running boards are headed to Ontario Canada with a little help from Nolen.

Think that's my $1.74, fell out of my pockets. Keep the watch!! Kim should be sending the cd face tomorrow. Take a pic from a distance, i wanna see her stripped! No pun intended! Curious if you took off worlds heaviest brush guard

Lash, the flares are already on the truck. The PO didn't cut the fenders when they installed the flares. He'll have to put them back where they are I guess.

Oh OK. I guess he would have to fill the old holes and redrill if he wanted to move 'em.

I still have not seen that truck other than pics.

Jon...will send a pic of her...the cow catcher came off and a CCOT HFS went on...looks good. also pulled the damage multipliers (side steps and brush guard) I like the more stock look.
Can't wait for that cd face...thanks again

CLC guys ^ this is the PO and he rocks...has helped me a ton.

PPO didn't cut them out but ran 35s which is why the metal is messed up around them.

I am going to remove the flares and see what I have to work with and will keep yall posted.
