I want to thank Sea Knight for coming through for me with a Local 4" hell creek lift so I didnt have to wait on shipping or production of a new order.

Sorry the springs didn't fit. Good luck with whatever suspension you end up using, and keep posting progress photos.

Hope to see your truck parked in front of Billy's before the year is out. :D:cheers:

Thanks,

My deadline is Thanksgiving, so it should look somewhat complete by then. I.e top and new paint, lift and working heater. Enough for the road trip to Galveston.

Small update:
I got my new front turn signals in, Brake lines, bushings and rotors. Im still waiting on the New calipers to arrive and then I will overhaul the brakes this weekend.

Tonight, I plan to install the Tire carrier and change the Transmission oil.

Tonights mjniproject, remove air rail. .

Picked up my order from fastenall. 14mm m14 - 1.5 pipe plugs Also picked up some some pop jacknuts for the SOR bikini top install.

Finally, no exhaust leak blowing against the firewall from my rotten air tube!

Also drained and filled my transmission last night as well as installed the new factory tire carrier I got from medic bob. The sill was rotted too much to mount the rubber bumper.

Also, anyone want to identify which header I have? I remember when my dad first got this thing. I was 16, so I doubt he will remember the brand.

Looks like a Downey/Marks Offroad header. 3-2-1.

Looking great. What's the plan for the rear sill? Are you planning to do the paint yourself or have someone else do it?

x2 on Downey. Mark Algazy still sells that header. He'd know for sure.

I have a spare tub. I am going to have all parts blasted and paint them off the truck, then reassemble.

Thats the way I would recomend doing it as well. My FJ is in the paintbooth as we speak and im glad I went through the trouble of blasting all the parts and the front cowling. Its worth the extra effort and time.

The truck looks good though keep us updated.

New toys...uh brakes.

I'm very impressed with these NAPA loaded calipers. They came painted, which saves me even more time.

I'll install this weekend with the extended brakelines in preparation for the lift down the road.

The rotors are the autozone lifetime. I have always had good success with their rotors.

Rotors and calipers on kitchen countertop....LOL. I used to wash greasy car parts in the dishwasher, until I got busted.

What's the timetable for your tub replacement? I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Who is blasting your tub?

Well, that wasnt fun. I spent about 10 hours on Saturday removing hubs, going back to the store for tools and trying to get rusted parts to unseize. I did get all the hubs and brakes removed cleaned and repacked with grease. Also installed the new turn signals on the fenders. I had to cut off the old ones with a hack saw. Sunday morning I bled the brakes and replaced the screeching belt with a new autozone belt. Best 9 dollars I have spent so far on the truck.

These two changes made the truck twice as enjoyable. I'll address the Tune, clutch bleeding, and Headlights/grill flip this week. Mechanically, I would like to have everything together before the body gets back for paint.

I no pics of the new brakes, I figure everyone knows what new brakes look like.

Haven't really gotten to do much work in the cruiser. I did have time to install new headlights and attempt to get it inspected. It only failed because of the nonworking horn. The guy did randomly get the windshield wipers to work! The pull just needed a little wiggling. I plan to disassemble the front bib, fenders and apron to send off for blasting with the new tub.
Here's some new bling I did have time for this week:
