Yeah, I'm planning on switching to Falken RTs. These were just really too cheap to pass up to try 37s. I will also be switching to 12.5 width instead of 13.5. McQueen made some fenders for the 460. My buddy Kal has them on his 460.The tread pattern on those 37's don't look very conducive to icy or wet roads.
Somebody needs to make Pre-Runner style fenders for the 460 series. Wonder if 5th Gen 4R front pre-runner fenders would fit?
Have to admit, I think your the first (at least on this forum) to mount and wheel with 37's.Yeah, I'm planning on switching to Falken RTs. These were just really too cheap to pass up to try 37s. Can you get any pic's of those prerunner fenders or a link?
I know there's one company that does super sized flares for the GX: Toyota Model Range | Arctic Trucks - https://arctictrucks.com/toyota-model-range/#toyotalc150
I thought about selling the GX and getting a Jeep before I went RCLT, but my wife was like, “You’ve already spent so much on this thing and the Jeep is so much smaller…” I responded with, “Well, if we keep it, are you okay with me going hammmmm on this thing?”, she said, “Yes. Go ahead.”This build is insane! Well done. You wheel the hell out of this thing.
Why did you stick with a GX, when it would have been easier to go with a Jeep for some serious rock crawling?
Me personally I like that poke look, so I don’t mind it. Though, when I go heavy on trim in the rear, I may look into those rear add-ons. We’ll see…Really like those fenders. Not sure how they would look without a long axle kit.
I do have the tires to fill those fenders! But what about rear fenders? Or just trim?
Also meant to ask, how is that rear spare tire hanger on the barn door holding out with such a large tire and hard off roading you do?
Any buckling or sagging yet?
I was just thinking about how much mud and stones the tires kick up on trails. Just me, but I like my ride too much to have it get all dinged up with rocks kicking up on it. Which is kind of funny cause I don't really mind trail pin stripping, so long as I'm not denting any body panels. The mud isn't too much of an issue as I stated in another post, since we don't see a lot of rain down here.Me personally I like that poke look, so I don’t mind it. Another reason for the GX, being in a 4x4 club with 90% of the members ride Jeeps (it's a large club with over 50 members) and every month I'm hearing about chronic issues with Jeeps of every model and year along with things breaking. Last month on an overnight trail ride in our local mountains, one of the members broke a mounting point on the frame for one of the front suspension or steering links. This piece was cast iron! It should have been forged!!I thought about selling the GX and getting a Jeep before I went RCLT, but my wife was like, “You’ve already spent so much on this thing and the Jeep is so much smaller…” I responded with, “Well, if we keep it, are you okay with me going hammmmm on this thing?”, she said, “Yes.
