Excellent, $150 paypal sounds great to me.

I'm working on figuring out what to do for a bracket, as time allows.

Thanks all for your patience!

I wouldn't worry about it too much, if the kit doesn't come with the bracket then it's not a big deal. Looking at post #53 by CycloSteve it looks as though the listed part, "Bracket = 88472-60060" would be the right one for the earlier style drier, which I think is the one you're going to use in the kit? I guess we could just get one at the stealership or at a wrecker if it's not in the kit

Anyone know what this bracket mounts too?.

on the earlier trucks there are 2 captured nuts in the area right behind the DS head light. The bracket screws to that.

I had looked at doing this conversion and the holes are there, you would need to use a couple of nutserts and then you would be good to go.

Updated list. Removed a double and added a few late comers. Not that I think the list is needed anymore since it's clear we'll have 50+ order even if a few drop out.

That's awesome, this kit should make for a nice clean OEM install.

I don't think that you would have to worry about people dropping out, this kit makes too much sense for anyone with an aftermarket bumper on their rig. I'm sure that it will sell well. I was going to buy Slee's drier guard that mounts on the ARB front bumper that I intend on installing on my truck, but this is a much better solution.

Rusty, good point. One thought is to also get some of the other well known vendors on the site to carry these/stock them. I know that one of my first calls to Christo after installing the ShortBus bumper was how to get the effing Dryer out of harms-way, and it has been bugging me since. If he had a set of these lines available for $150 I would have swapped them out two years ago. Just a thought.

You can put two beside my name.

Thanks!

Pre-weekend update:

We have Paypal set up, so I plan to issue payment requests sometime next week. Our office manager is working out the accounting details and I'm working with a different designer at the fabricating shop after I learned the original guy I was working with had unexpectedly left. I believe this is just a minor hiccup and nothing to worry about.

Have a great weekend!

Correct me if I am wrong, but if I understand correctly the planned kit will require the old style dryer because it is shorter. Could the longer dryer be used if it were mounted diagonally? Does it have to be straight up to function properly.

If the conversion uses R134 fittings throughout the R12 dryer will not mate.

I would think that if you are bending custom lines you would just use the mate to the R12 fittings on the drier at the drier end of the lines - unless you can't get an R12 fitting on an R134 tube. In that case I would think you could use an adapter like the one listed earlier in this thread?

The only other concern that I would have is whether or not there is a disadvantage to using a smaller receiver/drier. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Still thinking about 8 weeks once ordered?

That's the timeline the fabricator gave me.

I'm in with site glass would be nice...

The plan is for all kits to have a sight-glass.

The kit is set up to use the later drier (R134a) but in a 1" shorter than stock version. It's commonly available, Denso part # is 478-0500, 4Seasons #33589, Omega #37-13997, Frigette #207-875. Fits a '95+ Camry and other Toyota models.

Just put on my short bus and I need on of these. Count me in for my 97. Paypal is good. Thanks!
