Now we’re talking, it’s got mud on it and no box of donuts on the passenger seat from the corner market 👍.

Last week, I added some rear bump stop drops to keep the tires from hitting the wheel well openings. That worked well and rode decent. Only problem is there's only like maybe 2 inches before the bumps hit. Since, I wanna use this as a truck and haul occasional junk. I need more lift.

I dug through the leaf spring pile and found some Rancho lift springs and some oem jobbies with a big add a leaf. The oem ones came on the 68 FST, but the shackle angle was junk. I have used some Ranchos on my LV and was happy with them. So, I will clean and paint the Ranchos. Then install them tomorrow.
Hopefully have enough time for a desert test drive.

Road feel is the same or maybe alittle better. Off road is good, but now the wheel made some contact on the back edge of the fender lip. The springs moved the axle reward alittle. I will need to do my homework and dial in the bump stop to prevent this.
Overall......I still feel this spring swap is a WIN.

Rather than lowering the bumpstops, I'd consider drilling the spring pad and plate to move the axle slightly forward. I'd hate to see you loose more travel. Also, in some of the pictures the rear wheels look a bit too far back.
 
It's arts and crafts day in the garage. Working on the shortened fiberglass top cap.
So far, the drip rail has been shortened, cleaned up and painted. The fiberglass cap has been cut down and the edges are ready to go.
I have seam sealed between the cap and drip rail then riveted the two together.

It's too bad you're so far away from here... the strip you cut out would be great to have for my future fake 43 top ;)
But who am I kidding... you'll have built 5 more truck before I get to that... if ever.

Cruised by the Cave Creek museum this afternoon. I have never been there and it was closed, but I will go back soon. What I could see was a really cool mining display with a tram line and 10 stamp mill. They run the mill sometimes and that's cool to see.
The fake 45 is preforming like a champ. Rides good and the motor just purrs along. Got about 565 miles on it so far.

Have you been up to the mill at Crown King? My daughter got married there in February last year. They go up to Crown King regularly and know the owner who opened it up for their wedding reception. A lot of cool old mining equipment there. Have a multi piston crusher.
