I never had the original 2F air filter housing when I built this truck. I made a tube and used an open element filter I had laying around. Never really like this set up.

When I purchased the spare 2F it came with the housing. I cleaned it up and capped off any unused openings. It also had a K&N filter which I cleaned and reused. I still need to get some wing nuts and some thread rod, but I like the oem set up better. I am thinking it will do a better filter job as the carburetor was super dirty inside.

Loaded up and headed to the mountain forest tomorrow. Still need to tow this due to my laziness and not fixing the rear pinion angle. Vibes bad on the highway. Once the 68 Mustang is finished, this truck is gonna get some upgrades.

Prescott car show?

After 3 years of sitting in the backyard, the Rustoleum royal blue was starting to get alittle chalky. I hit it with some correction compound and the buffer this morning. It shined up pretty good. Bummer was I ran out of shade before I could do the second round of buffing with some wax.
Either way.....it's much better now.

Did some downtown cruising this afternoon. Phoenix downtown is not as cool as older cities back east ( I grew up around Chicago)......but it's got a few cool features. Here's the mural on the backside of the defunct mining museum. Then a shot of the Westward Ho hotel which was built circa 1927.

Reason why Phoenix downtown doesn't have much in the way of history is because it gets torn down and replaced. In many cases for parking structures. I worked downtown for close to twenty years. Seen many old buildings torn down in the name of progress. There is Heritage Square along 7th street. Then on the southwest there is a new modern building that replaced the old neighborhood that used to be there. On the northwest corner is a parking structure. Across the street on the north side a bigger parking structure. South side of Washington Street an even bigger parking structure. Then across the street there is an incloseed baseball Stadium that replaced an old warehouse district. That's just a small part of what was torn down and replaced while I worked downtown. Not that Phoenix didn't have any history it just didn't care to preserve it. But it does have plenty of parking garages. Even has an underground parking lot right in the heart of downtown. How cool is that.
