Building a headache rack for the fake 45. The fiberglass 40 roof cap is taller than a regular 45 roof. So, I had to make the rack a little taller. Honestly, I think it looks weird without the roof installed, but it will allow me to run a bikini top. I need some cover from the sun.

I cut out the flat corner curves, then capped the top and bottom. It was alot of welding and grinding but it turned out well. In hindsight, I should have made the radius a bit bigger.

Ah, the scenic route… very nice.
I have wanting a square tubing bender to make my own confer style rack(s).

@RevISK glad to help and thanks for the kind words.

I added some triangle shaped gussets to look more oem like. The bar has legs that slide into the bed corners and bolts go thru to the welded nuts to secure it.

Now it's time for a tiny bit of body filler to smooth out a few spots. Then get this rack painted.

If you’re diy minded, there’s a bunch of U tube videos on how to make a square tube bender. I hacked one together to make my cooler basket. It lasted just long enough to get the basket finished.

The temperatures in the evenings are finally enjoyable. So, I had to go for a cruise. Visited one of a few remaining Saguaro lamp posts from the late 1930s.
