I believe I got the power steering pump and bracket figured out, got a pulley coming from georg to bolt on the harmonic balancer. One question...In the power steering kit I ordered from cruiser outfitters it comes with a bearing for the steering column..do I take the column out of the truck and mount it in the column where it connects to the firewall?(is this clear, or jumbled up)

There is a 'cup' that bolts to your firewall, bolted to that is the actual column tube that extends up to the steering wheel, its bolted to the cup with four bolts. You will undo those four bolts, pull the column into the cab and then slide the bearing into that tube. Then, by bolting it back to the cup it holds the bearing from ever moving. Make sense?

PS. Bad news, your gears are rough, like really rough. Your rear pinion looks like it was loose at some point (has been worked on since) and there is severe wear on the ring and rounded out teeth on the pinion. The front is better and borderline usable but its still got some wear. There are some chips along the teeth that have been ground out. Give me a ring tomorrow and we can figure out a solution. Carl (my gear guy) would be comfortable setting up the front gears for a front install, not ideal but would work. He does not want to re-use the rears at all, they won't setup nicely nor will you get a quiet long life out of it.

PSS. Good news, you qualify for this, a free ARB Compressor since you are buying two air lockers!

Hard to believe they were that bad and you didn't hear them before removal or see the damage at removal... But, as others have said, not is the time for the 488's. You won't regret it.;)

I don't want to lose much highway speed. what would would 4.88's do? I want to be able to go 60 maybe.

4.88's and 35's will be just right. If you don't think it will then do 4.56's. I would love to have 4.88's. I'm sure Curt will hook you up.
