Introduction and timing belt question!

Hey y’all!

This is my first post on here and wanted to introduce myself, my name is Adam and earlier this year I procured myself a new to me 2004 LX470 with 330k miles on it. Relatively clean for the age and only had small issues so far but I’ve come to ask about the infamous timing belt.

I’m trying to find out if the belt had been done in the last 100k miles or if it’s overdue for one. I have no records of one and there are no stickers indicating it was done. I did peel back the driver side timing belt cover to visually check the condition of the belt and found this part number #: 13568-0F010 When looking this part # up it doesn’t match part #s being sold by Toyota or by kits online, which worries me and may point to it being an older belt. The belt looks to be in good condition, no cracking or glossy finish but wanted to ask if anyone recognizes this part #? I do have a 10hr road trip (5h each way) later this month and am wondering if it would be safe to do so on this belt?

I know it’s best to just change it, but it’s a pretty daunting job and I just have novice wrenching skills.

Any feedback would be awesome!

I wouldn’t worry about it for your upcoming trip but I would put it on the to do list since you have no record of it being done. A visual inspection of the belt is good but if the tensioner fails you’re in the same boat.
 
I would suggest your chances of having a battery, alternator, radiator, starter, fuse you can't find, etc to go out and four flat tires is pretty rare.....but still more likely than your timing belt breaking.
 
What others have said. Really doubt its the original with 330k miles. Actually looks really good. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
 
Belt looks good to skip for now. Has your cooling system fully serviced? Much more likely to cause you trouble

I don’t have records on cooling system either, but the radiator looks like it’s been replaced before and the hoses have been changed and are in good shape, they don’t have the factory clamps. I will also be doing the heater Tees before my trip

That is a newish Toyota OEM T-belt. 97% of belt installed outside of Toyota/Lexus dealerships shops, are not OEM belts. So very likely installed at Dealership within last 10K miles. Which "they" tend to not replace: T-belt idler & tensioner pulleys. Nor fan bracket, fan belt tension or idler. I've even seen where they've not replace water pump.

Studying vehicle service history, is a first step in pre purchase inspection. But certainly can be studied after, if looking to build history of services.
Go to Lexus Owners portal, input your VIN. See all service at Lexus.
Call Lexus parts dep. Ask for list of parts installed.
Look at carfax. See if at Toyota Dealership (if so call their service dep.) and or reporting INDY shops.


Check your wheel bearings and ball joints:
