I like the OEM steering wheel but always felt it lacked something so ...

and the stitched leather made a huge difference to the overall feel. I should have done it along time ago.

I always new that one day I would part with Olive but I did not know when. Well after 9 years exactly, it is with a touch sadness that I announce that Olive was collected yesterday by her new proud farther. This vehicle was way more than just a vehicle and literally changed the lives of my family and I on so many levels. Although sad, we have no regrets as we know that the new owner is probably an even bigger cruiserfreak than myself, so we have peace in our hearts that she will be treasured like before.
Go well dear Olive, we will be watching you from the side lines and continue to treasure our fond memories of you....

Sad, but then not that sad :hmm: , as Olive will be in my neck of the woods. I will check up on the new owner regularly. :D

Wow! That could not have been an easy decision Theo! I've certainly enjoyed this thread. You did a great job of documenting your build and showing is what it's all about. The travels you've posted are just like dreams to me. Are you moving on to another camping rig? If so I, for one, wouldn't mind if you added more pics of your travels to this thread.

Thanks again for posting this thread!

Pete

now that is a bit of sad news! but at least she went to some one who will care for her as you have done. hows that 70 series troopy build of yours coming along?

It has been more than three agonizingly long years since my last post but ........... the buyer is a stand-up guy who kept to our arrangement that if she ever came up for sale again, I would have 1st option. So I bought her back and our home feels entirely complete again. It all happened right at the start of our Covid 19 lockdown and has been an equally agonizing 6 weeks till long distance haulers could operate but this morning I finally collected her !

:bounce:

That's incredible!
Let's celebrate it! Cheers mate, 🥂
...and greetings from an expat in Cairo!

Great news, Theo. New pics, soon? ;)

Well it did not take long before my OCD kicked in and I started noticing things where I can improve her starting with the fact that she was not quite as level as I would like

the shackle angle had me confused as sagging would usually affect both sides ..

So last night I stripped her ...

and confirmed that the two top leaves on the right rear fixed end side is bent a little ...
