Scoop Tastic

I have to second the kudos on the bitshin scoop...:grinpimp:
And the bracket you have for the IC? is that simple homebrew? I am getting ready for a similar project and am looking for parts....

Hi eleblanc,

How is the intercooler going?
Have there been any problems after intercooling the 13B-T.
After looking at intercooling I think your set up is a winner.
Nice:)

Cheers Buddy.

No problem at all.

NOTE: the motor is 3B with aftermarket trubo. not a 13B-T

This is very cool - I will use that same type when I install my turbo - well done. I was going to try the frozenboost on my HZJ79 but was a little leery so I went with the PWR/Denco type. After really flogging my truck the intercooler is nice and cold and I get alot of performance out of it. I am going to fit an air bleeder screw though.

so after 1 year ?
how is the 3B with the water/air intercooler ?

Running great, i rarely see EGT over 900, even when i crank the fuel to a point where people might think a furnace is running the street.

The pump fuse blew once, don't know why it happened and never happened again.

Part numbers

Could you post the Frozen Boost part numbers? Particularly the hoses you used to connect the turbo to the cooler and cooler to intake. That cooler is the one I was looking at, it is 2.5 inch. I don't know if that is inside or ourside diameter, nor what fittings to get. On the water lines I think I'll go with braided steel. Thanks, Eric

The hose you see in the picture are the one that comes in the Turboglide turbo kit. I simply removed the straight pipe and replace it with the intercooler. IMO perfect fit. I couldn't tell the outside diameter of the frozen boost intercooler, but i'm sure if you ask them they will tell you.

You did this setup? how much did the EGT dropped?

Eric if you want a 24V pump for your system I have a pump from a military Webasto (Webasto 2010) heater that would work perfectly for this application, might be better than running on 12V. It is brand new NOS never been used. Trade ya for 12V...

Cheers

That webasto looks BIG...i wouldn't know where to fit that, even the small 12V bosch pump i'm using is cramped right now. My setup is working fine so i'll leave it like this for now!

The pump is quite small if I remember correctly... I will have a look next time I am in the basement.

Here's one I did a coule years ago.
