@FJ60Seth did you receive a recurved distributor from Jeff w/ a single port vacuum advance as you stated he could do for yours... and are you running it?
It has a good, original vacuum advance. Sadly it’s sitting on a shelf waiting to be installed.

Ah, mine is too.It has a good, original vacuum advance. Sadly it’s sitting on a shelf waiting to be installed.
And I quickly found the answer to my question here (Post #5)I just finished installing a new mid-70's, Toyota US application, NipponDenso single diaphragm/single port advancer in the distributor from my '86 FJ60, which received a 3FE several years ago. I'm hoping to run it in my '71 FJ40 with '76 2F (no EGR). The '71 F 2-bbl. carburetor I'm using has had the appropriate ported vacuum added. The only unknown is the mechanical advance. I imagine it needs a re-curve. I'm hoping to find a thread in the FJ40/FJ55 tech section that will help me determine what springs to use.
Photo:I'm just now wrapping up a modification to a non-Land Cruiser dual diaphragm NipponDenso advancer. Later today I'll be installing it into a freshly refurbished '79 2F distributor for another MUD member. I'll post some photos when I'm done.
This is the advancer I'm using:
- Dual diaphragm with vacuum advance and HAC similar to the advance curves on the '78 through '80 2F distributors - mainly for '79 Land Cruisers with HAS and '80 Land Cruisers with HAC
Unfortunately it's the only good dual diaphragm advancer I have with a curve suitable for the '78 through '80 distributors. I haven't been able to find a source for new advancers from the same vehicle, but I'll keep looking.
