Tell Batteries Plus to piss off, I got 2 of those and 1 is still in 40, the other leaked black crap out of the batt case & when I took it to Batt Plus & showed them they said they wouldnt replace the brand new batt because there is no black fluid in their batt however it was sitting on the counter leaking black fluid, I shoulda opened it, it was prolly full of blow.
Well that friggin sucks. I have not found another compatible Group 34.
Edit - looks like Odyssey has one. Guess I will go with two from them.

Pls check also the starting motor, and ground cables !
Sounds like you might have some problems other then old batteries .
On spending 1000 $ on batteries …..I am very happy with Optima , with a far less spending ticket .

I always question shelf life of odyssey, check the production date. I will say the good P2 from Batt Plus has been good. They are an AGM batt and manuf. says can be mounted on its side which I did, thats the one that leaked, no I didnt crack the case with the hold down. I have had 3 optimas in same exact location mounted sideways over 24 years, no leaks FWIW. I now have the P2 in parrallel with the optima with a Moroso master cut off on the pos. The PICO ones are garbage, internals corrode, the Moroso is all metal housing, much stronger contact, rated as high as I could find a manual operated switch. I believe it is servicable to. I only use the cut off to separate batts when I am sitting for days without truck starting, if the fridge says low voltage, just link batts and carry on, start truck if nec. Or when jumping others to protect elec components. FWIW when sitting 150w of solar keeps batts at voltage with fridge, starlink & lites on, i was really happy with how well the system recharged, I thought 3 days before having to use alternator, this was fridge 24/7, starlink about 5 hrs a day, & lites all night, after 5 days static the full voltage lite was on by the time coffee was ready every morning and it takes way less sun to activate the solar charge than I expected.

You are not posting anything I have not considered. I checked all the connections (to include the DBS connections) and cleaned them a couple of days ago. I have not yet looked into a potential starter issue and I doubt thatnis what it is. (I turn the key and all the lights go out on the dash as though it is batteriesj but not always). But I need to get the batteries load tested - that is the quickest and easiest thing to do but I don't really trust anyone who offers that as a service since they just want to sell you a battery. I am going to pick up an inexpensive load tester when I get back from travel in about 2 weeks.

As far as Optimas, they have been a crap shoot for many years. I am running two old blue tops from before their manufacturing change. Both over 10 years old so I definitely got my moneys worth.

This truck has had a few weird issues iver the years. The ABS computer went out and had to be replaced and then a coue years ago the ECU inexplicably went out and had to be replaced. (No water intrusion - it just failed.)

One other thing I was planning is to completey isolate the start battery from everything (DBS, lights, tow controller, winch). But there is no reason to do all that before getting the old batteries load tested since that is the cheapest and easiest thing to diagnose.

My 10 year old start battery is trashed. I am unsurprised but that is the assessment.
I have purchase one X2 group 34 to replace my 12 year old aux battery and one Odyssey Extreme Group 31 PC2150 to replace my 10 year old main.
That hurt - $1000.
Both offer a 4 year warranty.

I hope they aren't shįt.

FYI - I just verified the RBM is discontinued so if you can get one you might want to.
I just got the last one that Royal Battery in Canada had in stock. Since they will not mail to the US I had to put up the Mud signal to get a hop.
Good luck.

For what it is worth I have been running x2 power batteries for about a decade. The first one I ever bought is still going strong but has been relegated to bench duty since I soldy 60. The other two have been under the hood of my Troopy for ~7 years. Both are still going strong. I keep them charged by the alternator and a victron solar controller.

Well - all seems right with the world.
One Odyssey group 31M with new $lee terminals that fit like a champ and one X2 group 34 that was a direct replacement although it was about 1/4 taller than the Optima.

When I picked them up the battery guy said I probably made a better choice than sticking with Optimas. He says he sees more Optimas returned than any other battery. He said this is since around 2016 and he has been in the game for nearly 20 years. I liked my Optimas and really got my moneys worth (as noted 11 years on the aux grp 34 and 10 on the grp 31 main). We also noted that the new batteries were heavier than the Optimas they were replacing. I don't know what that says about longevity or quality.

I will avoid using the threaded terminals on the Odyssey as I have noted the comments that they can be a bit fragile. I also do not need them since the Slee terminals are built with having all the extra stuff in mind.

The only reason I selected the Marine Odyssey with the extra terminals rather than the one without is it was $30 less. Sorta weird because the specs are the same save the extra terminals. Also measurements of the main studs are the same as the 31T.

I will come back here and post up if I encounter any issues and maybe even to let everyone know how long these last (hopefully in 8 to 10 years).

Also, both AGM - most here know battery size does not matter with this style system - they just need to be like chemistry and I have heard lithium will not work with it.
