I just emailed Toyota asking them to bring us the new 70 series here(US).

I mean, look at it!

So I just sent Toyota an email letting them know if they ever bring it here they've got a customer willing and ready.

I feel like a 10 year old writing letters to Santa. Maybe someone up there is listening...

Probably?

"No Way" :)

I dont know about market viability. It definitely competes with other cars in the line-up such as the 4Runner (the media already things thats TOO truck like). However, the Wrangler has shown there is a market for serious off-road vehicles with solid axles front and rear.

If it brings it as shown in the pictures above I imagine the American public would imagine it too rough. But if they can get some FJ60 cues on it....

A guy can dream...

Ford sold approximately 650,000 F-150's in 2013. Those are the kinds of numbers that inspire a manufacturer to enter or stay in a market.

Admire your effort and optimism, but this subject has been beaten to death. :deadhorse:
Consensus among those in the know is that it can never happen. What's the name for that? The young'uns say "boner killer".

My recommendation, just buy a 25 year old 70 Series. Minus the fancy engine, a properly equipped 25 year old 70 Series is just as capable as a new one.
The 70,71,73,74 & 75 Series are available now and in short order the 77 & 79 Series will be available.

three things that make this impossible

crash testing.. it wont pass..no crush zones..
emissions testing/ US changes diesel emissions standards too often and does it stupidly..even Europe is better..
and volume, we are not a big enough market to reasonably cover the costs our government imposes on automakers..

we are the minority, very few people want a truck that will outlast them, in the US... why do you think the f150 is the best selling vehicle.. XX years running

I sent the same letter - both in English and Japanese - both to Toyota USA & Toyota Japan. Mine ended with..."...although we've owned approximately 13 Toyota/Lexus vehicles...will not purchase again until blah blah blah...". So - replaced our RX 350 with a Volvo XC60; bought a Honda Accord for my commuter car instead of a Toyota/Lexus product. And while I'm dedicated to rebuilding my FJ60 and will continue to dump $$$ towards its' restoration & service, I will not buy a new Toyota product until [insert 60/62 parts, 70 series, etc., here]. And yeah, I realize our 'taking a stand' might equate, at best, to 10-15 future vehicles, it's still taking a stand nonetheless.

Now. . .if we could get all FJxx owners to sign a collective petition. . .probably still wouldn't make a difference but from my experience, a collective voice gets more attention.

just import them like people did with the skyline gtr's

I was talking to a dude with Toyota, and he admitted that they struggle with understanding what the American market wants compared to the domestics. Toyota naturally produces more reliable vehicles, and that naturally attracts customers no matter what continent. But if Toyota actually produced something comparable to the Rubicon's and Raptors-watch out. They just don't get it though. They did good though producing the new Lexus RC F. Its like the modern version of the 90s supra. Its pricey though
