While it dries to the touch in about 15 minutes, it stays soft for at least a couple weeks. Made putting things back on harder than it needed to be. If I let it dry for two weeks I probably wouldn't have had that problem.
Paint didn't come out as smooth as I would have liked. I think that had a lot to do with the heat and humidity. I think it was drying too quick to smooth out. Though it's not a showroom cruiser to begin with. I think if I would have thinned it a little it would have come out better.
So my last post was the 3rd. In the pics above show what I had left to do in 3 days with one of those days being a full 8hrs at work. I really had only one full day to finish so taking pics was last of my concern.
Friday night I got the tailgate on and fixed the wiring. Ended up screwing up thinking the Corolla switches would be plug and play. Ended up going back to what I thought were my original switches only to find out they were not. I had taken all the pins out of the plugs and made them work. Though.
Got the gas tank in and hooked up.
Got drivers side seat in. It turned out to be harder to do than it should have. I ended up making my own mounts when I could have just used the original rear mounts with just a piece of angle iron.
Saturday I got most of the essential parts in and got it to a driving state. I ended up putting the old roll bar back in as there was no way I was going to be able to weld the MetalTech cage in. AT this point I was also packing for GSMTR and getting all the raffle prizes together.
The seats rock.
The tranny tunnel was something I had wanted to do from the beginning. How I managed to get it done in about an hr is beyond me.
Sunday I woke up and spent basically the whole day getting the soft top and the spare tire carrier on. What a pain. Once the bows were on Jim's (OCDbeetle) top went on perfectly. Cannot say enough about it.
So at 5 I left for a 6 hr drive to Tn. with a trailer full of crap and a cruiser full of stuff. Took this pic of me a loaded up. Drove perfectly which is what it should have considering I hadn't really done anything to the drive train except put in the aluminum radiator.
The next day I proceeded to take it out on the circle track at GSMTR and cover the inside and outside in mud and ruin my new paint job. But it was worth every minute.
This was me starting at about the 10 min mark. And yes it doesn't look that fast but it was and considering I forgot to put it in 4wheel drive I thought I did pretty good.

Oh and an action shot. Yep thats the passenger seat belt that hadn't been fully installed yet ruining my new paint.
