That is my biggest complaint about the 200, they eat brakes.

My wife’s 15’ with 75k miles (mostly short trips) is on rotor set #3, partly due to me switching to TRD pads which were a huge mistake and removed after ~10k miles when they ate rotor set #2.

I thought it was her driving style and the type of short trips until mine started vibrating at 20k miles that included 2 ~6000 mile trips out west with plenty of interstate driving. A rotor turn eliminated it, but confident it will be back soon, hoping to find a better solution at that time.

Try DBA next time. People speak highly of them.

The brakes received an upgrade in 2016. Larger calipers and I believe thicker rotors.

SIGNIFICANT difference between my 14 LX and 20 200s.

Thanks! I will definitely do some research upgrade to a better combo. I have had good success with DBA’s rotors and pads on my 80’s.

I had some chips in my chrome door trim so I took it up to the local wrap shop and had that wrapped matte

I'd like to do this to the chrome window trim but I am not sure it can be done reliably.

I don’t hate the chrome on the truck at all but with the passenger side flaking I was damn sure not buying another one in chrome

I'm guessing they did not have to remove that trim piece to do the work, is that right? Do you expect that to be a one and done thing or will it require a re-do every now and then?

I’ve not done any wrap stuff before but looking real close at it I can’t see how it will not last. Looks like a real clean job.

I went down the rabbit hole reading about Rhino Rack load bars that fit into the stock mounting locations on the 200….loved the look only to find they are on indefinite back order.
Then I find these crossbars. They are pretty ridiculously expensive but if they are not loud I’ll keep them up there. If not they come off and go up there when I need the RTT

I like how much they thought out filling out all the channels to keep them quiet.

No noise that I can tell on my normal drive to town and back (50 mile round trip at 80)

Good news.

Are those Yakima Timberline Towers? I have those with the JetStream bars. Also no noise that I can tell, very happy with them.

Made a cannonball run this weekend to Florida to pick up an FJ40 to work on at my shop.

Saturday was uneventful. Towing the 22’ trailer, empty the truck did not know it was there. Dropped the MPG to 13 but the 8 speed did no hunting

Drove by Tyndall AFB. I was stationed there 30 years ago and boy, the Hurricane made it and HWY 98 unrecognizable

Destination was Apalachicola Florida to hunt alligators. That was pretty unreal. The whole thing. Got up this am and ran up to Tallahassee to grab the FJ40

Loaded the 40, dropped the transmission into S6 and the 200 has done greet. MPG is about 9 running the speed limit. Pretty impressed with this Whale

Turned 70,000 miles young as well

The second row latching mechanism leaves something to be desired. That middle seat is precariously “loose” even when secured. I prefer the 60/40 of the 100. It seemed more robust.

Couple solutions

1) Wrap a couple loops of durable tape around the latch on the floor. The tape will wear and need redoing periodically
2) Put some type of pad under the seat to take out the play. Foam pad or folded towel
