Kurt, which version did you get? The 9 or the 10 injector version? Or which year Tundra is the kit for?

Look into urdusa.com and unichip.com for the piggyback computer. Might need a different sized accessory belt. AFAIK, the rest is the same.

FWIW URD is working on one of their Rotrex based kit that will work on the 100...

Thanks for the reply, it is part# 00602-17620-401

I've not had a chance to pull it out of the box yet, assuming the 1 or 2 injectors are going to be extremely evident once I do.

I think you mean 00602-17620-401 which would be the 98-02, nine injector version. The "401" suffix means its for the Tundra. If you happen to find the 403 ECU kit, that is the correct one for the 98-02 LC. But I think one of the other piggyback ECU's is the way to go.

Spot on, sorry about that. It is the 00602-17620-401.

Anybody by chance have a Toyota part number for the 100 Series specific ECU? Obviously it is long gone in the US parts system but perhaps I can use it to find a used one?

Good luck, the used parts are extremely rare. And if you do, it will likely set you back nearly as much as a new Unichip or Urd unit and not give you any ability to make adjustments. As Oregon said, check out the URD unit.

Hmm maybe I should sell mine used and upgrade to the URD...

I'm not married to the TRD setup, however I have a pretty good network of Toyota dealers I work with and might pull a rabbit out of a hat. A new-in-box SC isn't exactly easy to source either :D

That said I'm comfortable with the URD/Unichip setup as I've heard nothing bad about either. So I take it if you had to choose today you would go with the URD over the Unichip?

The demise of the 4.7 SC has been blamed on two components, the connecting rods and the TRD piggyback computer. It's a lot cheaper to swap out the piggyback than the connecting rods.

I would go with the URD ecu

Which controller would you opt for?

I would go with the URD ecu

Thanks!

Make sure you have all the parts, people regularly sell incomplete kits and missing little things like... the new thermostat housing. ugh.

welcome to the dark side.

I installed this kit on my Dad's truck back in 1999 and just removed it as he is selling the truck. I have everything including the original installation manual. I'm good to go.

So... Just in case you don't find a truck and want to sell. Nudge nudge wink wink...

What is the going rate? I have this NIB setup here :D I'm not 100% sure I'm going to use it, I need to make my mind up but if you have been shopping you might have a better idea as to what they are worth.

You would have to tell me what parts those are.

Yah I setup a ebay alert for "4.7 trd supercharger" and there were 3-4 that came up. I ended up paying more than I wanted but I haven't seen any for sale since so I guess that's supply and demand for you.

Seems like the avg price is 1500-2500 depending on if it comes with EVERYTHING (ecu which will set you back $600-$1000 if it's not included) plus the thermostat housing, and all the adjustment brackets which are nearly impossible to find.

Landtank,
See the 2nd paragraph in this quote. According to the poster, the thermostat housing and adjustment brackets are impossible to find...

Also, if someone could figure out a way to put these TRD SCs on the '03+ model years, that would be great.

Not really shopping, but always looking for a nice upgrade and a good deal, especially if it's complete/PNP.
