Trying to find a Male for this one:

View attachment 1685819

That one actually looks like a male connector, which would have female pins. You may want to see if a 90980-11629 comes up with anything. I used to be able to check this stuff more easily when I was at the dealership. :frown:

the male ones listed in the toyota connector manual are only the ones that are not circuit board mounts.

Finding a male housing that isn't a PCB mount through hole if it didn't exist in the car in the first place is impossible I think.
I never found any AC or screen plug male- free hanging- housings to match any LX or LC back there. Radio plugs are the exception (metra) I didn't find any mention or pictures anywhere of the 11628. Seems to me someone would have found it online if it was a stereo plug.
It is incredibly difficult to find the right connector to match a toyota part number through amp tyco, te connectivity, mouser, digikey, etc. Seriously, if you can avoid it, do.
What are you trying to do exactly? avoid soldering and or de pinning completely?

I agree, it seems that all the male connectors only go up to the 19 pin variety, Everything after that must be PCB mount.

just wondered if we were talking about the same thing. if you do find it post a number. I'm sure you're not the only one that would like to have one. Another option is just picking out a 22 or 24 pin, both sides, and using those as your connector.
if you show a picture of the wire I could tell you the terminal size, probably.
txsundevil knows what plugs your talking about, maybe they are 1.0 III?

it would be cool to take all the wires out of the 3 stereo plugs and plug them into one female connector and them the male connector bare wires out to headunit. even better if all the wires had the same terminal on them already.

this is a small two row 24 pin.

male 571-1376103-1
female 571-1318917-1

male terminals 571-1376109-1
female terminals 571-1123343-1

I will post up a picture of the connector next.

One thought I had was what if I could convert the LX stereo plug to the LC plug by de-pinning the LX connector?
The reason I am interested in this option is that Metra does make a connector for the LC-100 harness
I am pretty sure the only thing the LC connector is lacking is the individual speaker grounds. So if I could find another 4 pin M & F connector that takes the same size connectors, I could do that.

Picture of my connector.
First picture is the back of the radio.
When I take a look at the harness side (female connector?) is it possible I am only using 19 pins?

I agree with Jerry. Find a matching set and pins and rewire it so it looks pretty if that is all you are after. You could also just use the Sopoby heat shrink solder joints. They work great.

I have used those Sopoby solder seals, they are pretty cool!

Thanks. 90980-11629 comes up as a 8-pin male connector.

I found a bigger version of the wire harness repair manual. If I can store it here on MUD, I will provide a link.

I am prety excited about the fact that I am only using 19 pins of the 22 connector. If someone smarter than I can help me find a suitable 19 M & F, I could do this!

the part numbers I posted above are the easiest option without you looking up a ton housings. it;s big enough and listed right there for you.

Housings are gendered by the terminals that go in them.
You could go to radio shack, you could use molex connectors from auto zone. You could make an adapter, all you want is a quick disconnect. If you can't find a regular male housing for the back of a lexus main stereo plug the options are limited.
I want to say just by looking at those that they are 1.0 III terminals, but I I could be wrong, could be the .64.
You just have to pick a path and go with it.
You could make an adapter out of the PCB mount male and two females. That might not be the best use of space or money or time. The one I have in my hand is the same listed numbers above. I would find one that had 1.0 terminals though.
I don't really have the time to do a prolonged search.
I melted off my own circuit board males to find #s and to measure.
If I have time I will look and see exactly whats in your lexus plug and look for two like connectors and pin sets. Actually I don't have any pdf/s or books with that part number in it. What year is your car again?
If you think logically about all the males in a car, it makes sense that they are always (mostly) mounted to something and not freely available.

Thank you - are those Toyota part numbers?

What do you think of going with a 19-pin M & F since I am only using 19 of the 22 locations?

doesn't matter how big of one you use. I think you only need 14 of the that lexus plug, based on my reading of the nakamichi radio earlier today.
*it's easier to find even numbered slots, of even numbered rows.

Interesting...

This resource shows 4 blank spots in the 22-pin connector.

Stereo Wiring: Land Cruiser / LX 470 (1998-02)

I am not sure about only needing 14 pins?

Vehicle in question is '99 LX470 w/ Nakamichi 6-disc changer built in

So does this mean there is light at the end of the tunnel for those of us with the lx and nav to upgrade our radio?

So sorry to disappoint, this is for pre-Nav LX w/ Nakamichi ('98-'02?)

This is for the LX's with the Nakashima radios in them, before NAV was even an option.

Nakamichi. But I knew what you meant.

I was taking a look at @RobRed page here, wondering why he showed 4 blank spots on the 22 pin connector.

The position they have labeled as 12 on the connector has a Brown/White wire in my connector.

Does anyone have a '98+ FSM that could tell me what that wire is for on Nakamichi?

Thanks in advance!

Here you can see the Brown/White in pin # 12:

I think I might have found something...

Connector 90980-11502 is a 22-pin female that looks very similar to what they used at the Nakamichi in the 470. Maybe it even is, or maybe they used 90980-11628.

The cool thing about 90980-11502, is it has a corresponding male connector, 90980-11503. When I search these p/n's, it looks like they were used in A/C systems on '04 100 series Cruisers, probably more.

They use 1.3mm terminals that I think I can get with 160mm of "repair wire" from Toyota.

I am going to try to order from the dealer, I will let you all know how that works out!
