Thanks a bunch @PabloCruise for doing all the detective work.

For this that are curious about an adapter harness for the LX470 stereo, I found this kit from Corsa-Technic: 050U-22P-1 22-Way Kit It claims to be a drop in replacement for Toyota 90980-11503, and also includes the crimp contacts. For 5 bucks it seems a little too good to be true, but if it works that's by far the most cost effective way of building your own head unit harness.

Hitting order now, and I'll report back if anything useful shows up.
Sweet! Let us know! That is quite a bit more economical than the connector plus the repair wires from Mr. T.

I salvaged everything I needed from an early 2000s Lexus ES. I looked in four LS models without any luck (their stereos aren't the same as the LX470) then, on a lark, I looked at the lone ES on the lot, and voila!

Do they have our amplifier?

Honestly, I didn't look. I was only concerned with the connector housing on the harness. They're a dime a dozen around here, though. Unlike Land Cruisers...

It works! Wow it really has been a while since I posted my original message. (Sorry bout that) The kit took a couple weeks to arrive but it plugs right in as you'd expect.

Hey. I’m about to embark on this for my 1999 LX also and was going to order the Toyota male connector and then put the new head unit wiring into the back of it with crimping/ and or buying the Toyota terminals with pre crimp wiring (expensive per each) but then read your message. Are you saying the corsa connector is perfect fit to replace the male connector option, and can plug right into the 22 pin female Lexus connector that is on factory harness? And if so then it goes right in, and then the connectors that come with Corsa, we use to crimp and attach to the wires from new harness and insert into the corsa connector? Of course paying attention to location to match it up with wires or old harness on original female connector. And then that corsa 22 pin attaches into that old female harness and voila? All good? Sorry trying to visualize this. Getting Lexus male connector delivered to Canada with cost of part is like $50, and then still have to get the Toyota connectors with wires, like $10/ connector or using sumitomo ones but that involves another $50 proper crimper for those to make them perfect.
Your route seems easier and more cost friendly. Or I use t connectors and splice them with new wires to back of old harness without removing old connector. Someone I know did that and was fast and cheap too. If changing again to new harness/ unit he can just remove the connectors. Old harness and connector stays in tact.
