What did you think? Would you pull the trigger on one?
You know, I think it would boil down to some test drives. The LC w/ a turbo-4/hybrid set-up and 8 speed vs. the all-gas GX twin turbo V6 into a 10 speed.
I am sure 8 speeds is enough gears, if they did the gear ratios correctly.
Both of them are making N of 450 ft-lbs of torque, so that is impressive.
I guess it just depends on where in the RPM band they make peak torque, know what I mean?
There's no turbo lag w/ an electric motor...

Lexus wasn't kidding when they said it was a prototype. The paint was all orange peel, and then I found evidence it was repainted all over.

They had all the doors open on the GX, you could sit in it and adjust the seats. There was adequate interior room, but it did not feel large in there. The GX had a cooling center console (no meat or fish! I wish I got a picture of that graphic!), so center console storage looked/felt small. The Lexus guy said other GX packages would have 3rd row seating - I bet that would make the cargo area feel pretty darn small.

The LC was roped off and the doors were closed. You could not get a look inside at all. But the LC looks to be about the same size as the GX - smaller.

Like 4Runner size...

Last thought, I thought the Sequoia looked impressive!

I wish I had take a picture of Sequoia window sticker, but that sucker was making just shy of 600 ft-lbs of torque and putting it through a 10 speed tranny.

Almost 600 ft-lbs, out of a factory gasser... I grew up reading a lot of Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines. Buying a factory rig w/ those kind of numbers used to be a complete fairy tale!

We took daughter out for a camping trip before she starts school tomorrow, senior HS year…where did the years go!
My oldest is a senior this year also. Last year for Homecoming, last year for Prom.
Crazy. “Where did the years go?” indeed.
Happy that he finally went out for football!
